Sun Bum Hair Lightener Spray

I have used this 3 times in between washes and can tell a noticeable difference! I forgot to take before and after pics, however this is what I found: Yes this works with a blow dryer. I wash my hair once every 3-4 days with dry shampoo in between. I use this either after I wash my hair while it is damp, or the next day on dry hair by spraying thoroughly and then blow drying for about 5 minutes on medium heat after i have brushed the product through. I am naturally a dark ashy blonde and this has definitely lightened my hair in only 3 uses. I will note that this does make my hair lift a bit warmer than I’d like so I may eventually use a toner of some kind (but pre-summer I’m fine with the warm tones). This works just as well if not better than sun-in. It definitely has a ‘beachy’ smell. I have a lot of hair but it is on the finer side so I don’t really like any products that leave a ‘weight’ or texture to my hair which this does, however it’s not heavy more like using a sea salt or texture spray in your hair. I usually put mine up with a clip for 2 days after. I feel like it does continue to “develop” for at least another day so I wouldn’t use this and then wash right away but after washing my hair is just as soft as before with no damage. I haven’t noticed any split ends or frizzy texture from using this. Definitely well worth the price and I will keep buying.

I have used this product on medium brown hair about 10-12 times already in the Florida sun and it is definitely working. I have never used it with a blow dryer. My hair is not turning orange. It is now a golden light brown with some lighter streaking throughout. Very natural looking. I will continue to use it. The scent is pleasant. I have not noticed any damage at all. It is very mild and subtle. Just takes time. The first few times I used it I did not notice a change, but then one day it became a little more obvious and now it seems to be changing faster now that is has lightened up a shade or two. My natural color is solidly medium brown maybe even on the darker side of medium.

I grew up with blond hair that turned light brown/dark sandy as I grew older. I've tried the tried and true drugstore option and that worked well; this is less intense. As such it takes a little longer to work, but the results are a little better. It's also safer as the gentler effect is less prone to overdoing it too quickly. The only downside is that you'll use more of it to achieve a similar effect. It includes a violet color that acts as a toner and keeps the color nice, however this will probably wash out over time.

This will ABSOLUTELY lighten your hair in the sun, but be prepared for breakage if you use it too frequently. I use it to lighten my roots to extend my blonde in between hair appointments when I hit the pool or beach. But I noticed when I was using it too frequently, I’d get those little flyaway broken baby hairs on top. When I spray it all over, my hair is so bright and fresh.

This lightener works amazingly. I use it after every shower before I blow dry, and again whenever I’m heading out in the sun. The results speak for themselves. My virgin hair has lightened beautifully without looking brassy.

I’ve been using the Sun Bum Hair Lightener and it’s honestly so good for getting that natural sun-kissed look. I spray it on before heading outside or using a blow dryer, and after a few uses, my hair definitely looks lighter and brighter—like I just came back from a beach trip. It smells amazing (like coconut and summer), and it doesn’t make my hair feel fried or crunchy. I’ve got medium brown hair and it gives me subtle highlights that look super natural. it works best if your hair is already light-ish. If your hair is darker, it might take a few uses to see a difference, and it can pull a little warm/brassy if you don’t tone it after.

I bought this product to lighten my roots as I got some highlights that got really light over the summer and although in a natural datk/ash blonde, next to the highlights my roots looked sooo dark so I decided to try it after reading good reviews and I LOVE it! I'm only a couple of applications it really lightened my roots and blended them in with the rest of the hair! I think it helped that my hair is naturally some kind of blonde and I did go in the sun. It smells so good too. I'll buy again as it saves me so much money from having to get roots done at the salon! (See before and after pics!)

Ottimo prodotto… Consiglio per chi ha un unico colore nei capelli. Io per esempio ho le meche bionde e si sono macchiati un po.. però ho risolto con uno shampoo viola. Quelli di mia figlia sono bellissimi dopo solo una applicazione. Si sono create delle mèche più chiare molto belle

Sehr tolles Spray und es funktioniert! Die Haare sind wesentlich heller danach. Direkt auf die frisch gewaschen und noch feuchten Haar aufsprühen und am besten mit Hitze trocknen oder eben in der Sonne.

Can confirm this works 5 days of use a lot of the time she wore a hat but left the ends out and it has definitely lightened.

I didn’t think it worked for a long time, but then I put more on and suddenly went blonde quickly. Effective but be careful!
