Love this RV lock. We were able to install it in about 30 minutes. Love that we do not have to carry our keys with us when we go for a walk. The keypad is easy to read, numbers are well spaced and it does light up when you press the first #, so great at night. The fob is also easy to use and clicks right open. You do need to give is a second after you hit lock or unlock to beep before pulling on the handle. Great upgrade.

I have a 2022 Forester MBS 2401 and have been wanting a wireless door lock for a long time but wasn’t sure it would fit. Finally after looking at the available locks out there I took a chance on this one. I’m so glad I did.Wow, the install was like 10 minutes, it fit perfectly in the hole left by my old lock. And it works perfectly! It makes 2 distinct chimes when locking or unlocking, so cute. It comes with keys and 2 remotes; but we just use the remotes all the time, it’s so convenient! Sometimes we are in bed and ask “did you lock the door?” and now we only have to press the remote to ensure it’s locked. I’m so happy with this lock, and highly recommend it!!

Once installed and dialed in, the lock function is great. It allows key entry, keypad entry, and remote fob entry. However, there are some design issues worth discussing.First, there is a lock for the handle and another one for the deadbolt. Only the deadbolt is controlled by remote, so if the handle lock gets activated either by the key or by vibration (the lever moves too easily), then you could get locked out (unless you have the key). This defeats the pleasure of not carrying a physical key. In my case, I put a spare key in a magnetic key saver attached to the outside of the motorhome.Second, the design of striker plate allows the door to close such that the handle latch is engaged, but deadbolt is not aligned with the hole. If you try to remotely lock the door in this state, the deadbolt will not engage, and the door will not be locked. There is no warning, so you have to test the door after closing and locking.Third, the keypad only has digits 1 through 8, so you are limited on the keypad lock codes you can set. This ruled out my first five picks.The installation could be as easy as the shown in videos, but it was not easy in my case. The existing cutout in the door was not wide enough for the new lock to slip in. To make it fit, I had to grind about 1/16 of an inch across the top and bottom of the exterior opening. The next problem was the one of the screw holes on the latch plate was not threaded cleanly internally. I had to fuss around to avoid shearing the provided screw, but I eventually got it to work. I should have re-tapped the hole or requested a replacement.There is another design issue with the safety pins that extend between the door and frame. I believe the function of these is to prevent the door from springing open in an accident. Anyway, the pins were too short to mate with the door frame plate. They are adjustable with a Torq tool but loosening them makes them less than finger tight meaning they could loosen or tighten as the door is operated. There should be a set screw. I applied Loctite in hopes they will stay in the necessary position. I know from experience that when the sun hits the door these pins can bind and prevent opening the door, so you don't want the adjustment to change once set for correct operation in hot and cold conditions.Also, I had to adjust the striker plate in the door frame to prevent the door from latching too tightly. On my motorhome, that meant some adjustment using a small grinding wheel to enlarge the screw slots in the door frame to allow me to pull out the plate about 1/16 of an inch further from the opening. After making these slots larger, the door closed without excessive slamming. Without this adjustment, the door handle was hard to pull.The fussy installation meant the "ideal" 10-minute installation took more like 1.5 hours.I have a concern about relying on batteries to unlock the motorhome, but time will tell if battery life is short or long. The instructions suggest removing the 4 double-A batteries while stored (back to using a physical key).After all these complaints and observations, I still gave the product 4 stars for functionality. It was easy to program the code and the key fobs. The voice prompts and audible sounds during operation are reassuring (they can be turned off if desired).

Updated to Two Stars!! Company eventually took lock back and repaired it then sent it back to me. They reported that ‘something’ within latch came loose. No details so I am still hésitent that it won’t happen again.Original review: I tried to resolve this with RVLock directly but was shocked at their lack of concern or support. I purchased the lock late August 2019 for my motorhome. 7 months later, when we pulled over to get gas, we realized that we could not get the handle to 'unlock' as something inside the mechanism had failed. We were trapped inside our RV at the gas station! Not a good feeling at all/not a safe situation. I removed the inner plate to see what was stuck but the door handle lock was jammed in the extended position. We only had limited tools in RV, so I had to climb out the passenger side window to try to open from the outside with the key but still the locking mechanism would not release. It was jammed in tight. I got some additional tools from one of the bay compartments and passed them back inside the RV window to my wife who proceeded to unscrew the smaller inner cover plate. Only 3 could be removed as the 4th could not be turned (must be cross threaded at assembly). Therefore we still we could not get the latch to release. After about 30 minutes of concern and frustration, pulling and shaking the door, the latch released allowing the door to open. So BUYER BEWARE!! The product FAILED in less than 7 months of use. I calculate that the lock had only functioned 1,200 cycles (open and closing the latch) during this time. One would expect a product to last 5+ years 24/7/365. I estimate that this lock did not come close to reaching 10% of an acceptable product life cycle. I was emailing with customer support but they only offered to send me a couple parts to try and figure it out myself but told them i don't trust this lock to not fail again. They then offered to send me a label to ship it back to them so they could review it, BUT i would not get a new latch or a refund. So buyers please be aware that this lock CAN and has FAILED in a short period. And if it does you are on your own because they will NOT provide any replacement or refund after 30 days.Additionally - To install it I needed to enlarge the size of the opening over the standard latch hole.

It was simple to install. Did need to trim some of the plastic door skin. But very happy with the lock

The lock is great. I talked to RVlock to make sure the lock would work in my class c. She said yes. It was not an easy installation. Had to do a lot of shaving and drilling to make it fit. About an hour and 40 min with the tools i had. When it was finally in, it works great.

Great heavy duty lock and functions great but the keyless entry and fob only work the deadbolt not the handle. You still have to use the key if you want both locked. Kinda goofy in that way. Also I love the sleek rounded look of it but because it’s not the same shape as the old one I have a gap (pictured) where water etc can get in. I will have to mount a plate under it and silicone it etc. I would have rather it just been the same shape as the old one and not deal with this. Install is so simple less than 10 min start to finish 3 screws.

Very easy to install. Works great on all functions. The only thing I didn't like there was no #9 and that was a number we would of liked to use, but we got over that. Now I have a happy wife! 😊

Great lock. Throw away your keys and enjoy the convenience of touch pad or remote fob. Would be nice if it included the black decal to cover the unpainted area of door that is left exposed. Having to order seperate decal is a time and postage waster.

This is actually a great lock for the RV and we were loving it. We are away on vacation and it just stopped for no reason. It has left us in a fine mess. Would not purchase again. No way to contact seller for support.
