Sturdy plastic, three time purchase
First purchased about 1 year ago and then bought another set 6 months ago.I use these for storing approx. 6" long aluminum pieces in a homemade pull out rack. They handle the 15 lbs. or so weight well. The price increased by about 7 dollars or so in the last year( per 5 pieces) but still worth it. This time-limited time price decrease to approx 20.00= all around durable

Good classroom storage option
I use these as sand trays for multisensory handwriting instruction. They do not latch or snap closed which is fine as they stack easily for storage. Great tool for this purpose.
