Makes solid core splatters like flux
Put these on and soon after I couldn't figure out why I was getting a lot of splatter. Took them off, fed and cut off about 15" of wire splatter greatly reduced. Soon splatter almost totally gone. Wiper (gray) pad might be great but not with the "lube" smeared all over it.Up date. Found that gas hose was leaking. Fixed the leak and no problems

A real and proven solution to end "bird nesting"!
My old Lincoln 155 Weld-Pak had trouble dispensing wire. With out fail as soon as I cleared the last one a new "birds nest" would occur after only a few minutes of welding! It became so frustrating considered getting a new welder! I stumbled upon the 'Lube-Matic Combo-Paks' by luck. The (2) foam cylindrical pads attach around the Mig wire inbetween the spool and the cable feeder and stay in place by a metal clip. The red one goes before the black one. The red pad is a bit coarser and removes grit or rust. The black one is for coating the cleaned wire with a welding wire lubricant which is purchased separately. This is what saved me the cost of a new welder! The freshly cleaned and lubed wire is now easily fed through my Mig's .35 inch liner. I've been using the pads for almost 3 weeks and haven't had any problems with the wire being fed and I've been using it a few hours a day every day! If you have welding wire feed problems and don't like having to clear knotted coils from your feeder try these pads and purchase the lubricant for the black pad. It doesn't contaminate the integrity of the weld, but it really works. Here is the link for the lube I bought ; Weld-Aid - Lube-Matic® Liquid Wa Lube-Matic 5 Oz007040 - Sold as 1 Each

GOOD choice.. Preventative maintenance for your mig liners.
It works, price is best I could find. Good deal. It keeps clean the inside of your mig gun assembly liner. Cleans the wire itself of contaminant's BEFORE entering the mig liner.. Improve's & lengthens the lifespan of the liner itself. Along with reducing 'skipping' (to a degree) of internal liner 'wire drag', due to dirt & contaminants. It may not be noticeable to a novice welder, but it does improve the overall weld quality, long term. And reduces the number of liners you'll be buying, over the lifetime of the machine.. Same reason you change the oil in your car. GOOD maintenance.. Simple.

The Cheapest/simplest preventative maintenance for you welder!
If you own a MIG welder, these little lube pads will save you a lot of heartache and prevent a lot of stoppages on your machine(s). I've been making them myself for years.... generally making out of a plug of felt soaked in WD-40. As I get older, I find myself willing to pay for SOME of the things I used to make for myself....and this is one of them. :) I've not had any of these dry out yet....but if they every do, a quick spray of WD-40 every now and then... and you're good to go!

Really does the job but don't forget to lube
I've ordered about 3 so far they are amazing and haven't had an issue since. Not counting me kinking the liner

Too big to use in tandem with black lube pad
Easy to install if your welder has enough room “under the hood.” I could only fit the red or black in my Titanium Easy Flux welder. I opted to use the red cleaner one.

Great reducing drag on wire
Works as advertised, only drawback is not enough space for the lube (black) and cleaner (red) together when using an 11lb wire spool.

Love these
Been struggling for a while with my wire feed started off with the black ones for lubrication and then added the red ones these things are fantastic I can't believe I never discovered them before
