Love this cage a lot but have a glass of wine handy when assembling!
This is a fabulous cage BUT it is a pain to assemble. The top bars have to be held into place. The handle goes thru the same holes-which I discovered after I had finally gotten them in the first time. The instructions are useless. Its not rocket science and you can figure it out pretty easily but it was way harder to assemble this than I thought it should have been. That said, it is a solid, nice looking cage.I gave 5 stars for the cage but I was missing a screw for the latch, the screws the hold the door on are not flush with the door-cosmetic but it bugs me, and there are a couple of rough spots that will need to be sanded down. The cage is a miniature of her regular cage and will be a wonderful way for her to travel with us in the RV as well as using it for some sun time.We will be purchasing another.

First Class Travel
Though the directions were minimal at best.....this travel cage was relatively easy to assemble. The cage itself is extremely high quality....stainless steel throughout, not a bit of plastic to be found! My Indian Ringneck fits in it perfectly, it accommodates his long tail nicely. The spacing on the bars is perfect. My bird will not be getting his head caught between the bars. It is a bit heavy, but not too bad. I will not be going back to the poor quality travel cages from local pet stores. It is well worth the money if you travel longer distances, which I do. I won't be feeling badly for my bird while he is in the car.....he is traveling first class now.

Sadly 3 star Quality control is everything.
I am pleased with the heavy duty wires in this stainless cage. However several of my screws rusted and some of the joints rusted. Yes it is very heavy. But I needed something durable. I do not understand why there is a warning that there could be lead present which can be harmful. That’s scary! I do not understand why my bowls are so deep that I cannot get them out of the cage through the side openings. I bought three cages and I have the same problem with two of them. So four bowls are too deep to come out of the side of your door. This makes the cage on safe because I have to open up the main door possibly allowing my bird to escape in dangerous situations. I also received two left sides and no right side. So I had to build the Cage incorrectly and the perch no longer works because it does not align up. I was given some reimbursements for my trouble but it did not make the cage any easier to use. If these situations could be rectified I would give this cage a five star. It is really not the kind of cage you would bring a bird to a vet in it’s too heavy for that. But if you have a green cheek or a cockatiel and you want to take them on vacation for a short time this cage would be very good. I would caution anyone using the metal perches inside the cage however they’re kind of rough on the birds feet and too wide. Instead I would purchase a soft perch. If the cage took a tumble while driving for any reason in accident The very heavy perch would fall out and could kill your bird. Plus the perch is really for a big bird like a cockatoo and this cage is too small for any bird bigger than a cockatiel or green cheek. Which is what I got them for.

Very nice small travel cage
This item arrived ahead of estimated date and was packed in a very nice thick sturdy box. There wasn't any damage or bent parts. Putting it together took about 20 minutes, no problems. As other reviews have stated there are some design issues. The feeder doors are not as well made and have a difficult to use design but they do work and can be changed and cleaned. The tray and bottom grate are separate parts but have to be removed and put in together which I also felt was just poor design but again not that big of an issue as you wouldn't be cleaning the tray or grate in a place your bird could escape (I hope).I will be replacing the perch as it is heavy and cold and I don't think it will be good even short term for a birds feet.I have a crimson bellied conure so not a large bird and the bar spacing is perfect. I also tested it on many different surfaces in my home and it sits flat and doesn't wobble and the rubber on the feet will prevent any damage to surfaces though I will be putting a blanket under it to travel in the car because of leather seats and how heavy it is.Yes, the cage is a little on the heavy side but considering all the flimsy poorly made travel cages on the market I would rather have it be an arm workout than the alternative and I didn't plan on hiking with my parrot anyway. I would purchase this again and probably will for my other small parrot.

Great travel cage but read my assembly note before assembling!
Perfect travel cage for my caique. She has a much lighter nylon cage with backpack straps that is perfect for simply transporting her from one place to another, but is too small and too susceptible to beak damage to leave her in it once we've arrived. This is small enough to fit easily in the car and to carry easily, while being just large enough that it can be her home for a week or so at a time (she is mostly out of her cage anyway). It was a pain to assemble, requiring about one hour for one person. If you haven't assembled it yet, take note: don't put the top screws in without putting that top perch in place first or you will just have to take them out and do it over again. Since they are the most difficult to line up, this is an important note. Assembly would have been 30-40 minutes if I had known this.Plan to buy at least one new perch for inside. The metal perch that comes with the cage looks like it would be bad for the birds feet, and my bird won't go near it anyway.
