Got this for 80 year old mum who’d had a cataract operation and had to remove the lens from her specs. She has found it very useful and is impressed with the good magnification. It was bought as a bit of a joke as my son said she’d look good with a monocle (!) but it has proven to be worth every penny until she can have a new prescription.

Absolutely brilliant for the price! It really works as well and magnifies! The only slight negative for me is it's a little bit big so you can't hold it on your eye like a proper monocle. But I only bought it as a costume prop so it's perfect for the price!

Unless you have eyes like a possum this is not a monocle and shouldn’t be sold as that. It is a small magnifying glass on a chain.

The quality of the lens and the very suitable and secure mount is well worth the cost, even without a chain (fortunately!).It came on a very pretty chain but when I held it by my neck it caught in four or five strands of my hair – unfortunately I hadn’t noticed it was caught and when I moved my hair out of the way the chain just pulled apart with my hair.Maybe seller could offer a ‘with chain’ or ‘without’ option, the former at a slightly higher cost but with a better quality chain.

I wanted something to use when I was out shopping so I could read small print on labels etc .works great handy to wear looks good .I recommend this product

A great gift that can be used for magnifying objects but at the same time can be used to put together a great party outfit. Made from good quality materials and the price was worth it.

The magnification isn't anything like the claimed 5x, although it's good enough to enable trading of otherwise unreadable text.Came up in an Amazon search for "monocle" (fancy dress!), but is unsuitable for this purpose since:a) both sides are convex (I.e.too bulged to fit in front of an eye)b) the diameter is too big for most eye sockets; certainly mine.
