Q: Is the pitcher dishwasher safe?

It's dishwasher safe but there's no way this would be properly cleaned in a dishwasher. The opening is too small for that.

Q: Is the plastic lid BPA free?

Good question, I didn't check so I don't know.. I don't see anything on the lid itself either.

Q: Is the glass lead free?

It's a good question. Sorry I don't have a definitive answer. However, when I googled whether this particular product contained lead there were several posters who stated they chose this rather than other similar products made in China specifically to avoid lead content.

Q: Can I pour with the stopper in place? This is Not a good design!

No, you cannot pour with the stopper in place. You are right about it being a poor design; I wish I hadn't bought it.
