Nice Product & Great Price!
Used this to connect a gutter/downspout away from the house. The gutter originally just poured into the yard. With this it will probably end up filling this and below also into the gravel, then overflowing.Either way though, dug a trench, ran 4" plastic pipe to this catch basin. The catch basin had about 5 holes drilled into the bottom by me and then a foot of gravel below it. It hasn't experienced a heavy rain yet, but this got the ugly black pipe off the lawn and allows me to just mow right over top.It includes the box, grate w/screws, pipe connector, and block off. Two sides of the box were open and accepting of the attachments. This price was the cheapest I found online too.UPDATE: Working great and holding up well. This does fill up in heavy rain, then the water just sort of flows into the grass. Much better than having black pipe in the yard and it's keeping the water away from my house. I plan to buy a few more for all my gutters.

Easy to install, sturdy
I installed the catch basin in a French drain with two collector (input) loops and one discharge port (output). Cutting the third hole in the catch basin was easy - it is made of high grade plastic. I purchase a snap in connector (NDS 1243 Combo 4" by 3" Outlet, Black) to install in the cutout - again, easy to do.Standard drain measurements are easy to do, the ports have connectors that fit 4" and 5" pipes and are stand-off from the basin. Nice device, hoping for many years of service.

Massive water capacity
A 12"x12" catch basin is a must if you are looking to move quantities of water away from your home. Don't skimp and get a smaller product. This catch basin is rugged and well designed.

Works with caveat
I've installed 3 of these catch basins on 1 side of my house to catch water from the downspouts and connected the recommended 4inch smooth wall drainpipe to move water from the basins to the stormwater ditch. The installation of the basin itself was not difficult. Since I had not installed these before, I watched the instructional videos produced by NDS for this catch basin. I highly recommend adding the filter NDS makes to accompany this catch basin. The basic rundown: Drill several small holes in the bottom of the drain. Connect plugs and outlet adapters to the drain with clear waterproof silicone. Dig your hole 1 foot deeper than the basin and fill the hole with gravel to allow water to drain out of the drain reservoir (bottom 3 inches below the drain outlet - this exists to catch debris and give it a place to sink before entering your drain system). Set and level the catch basin and connect drain pipe with clear waterproof silicone. It all makes sense in theory but I ran into an issue with the drilled drain holes. No, you don't want 3 inches of standing water in the bottom of the catch basin. BUT, all the water that collects in the basin, seeps thru the drilled drain holes, directly to the spot you are intending to move the water away from. The drain holes do not allow the basin to fill quickly enough to reach the pipe outlet. It all just drains out the bottom. To fix this, I plugged all the drilled holes with remaining waterproof silicone that I used to connect the adapters and drilled only ONE 1/16th inch pinhole. This allows the water to fill the basin to the point of the pipe outlet, even in drizzle, but the pinhole slowly drips to allow the basin to completely empty. It took a good 24hrs to drain that 3 inches of water after the rain stopped, so there is no longer saturated ground at the foundation of the house.

Phenomenally pleasant
Great value for the money and size. Works great too! We had a big heavy rain and several days of steady rainfall. Resolved the issue and looks good too!

Very sturdy and useful
Very sturdy. I dug a large hole that was extra deep and filled the bottom with gravel. There is a punch out on the bottom of the basin that I used. I connected two 3" corrugated drain pipes from two different down spouts. So far so good. It looks great in the flower bed and saved me from having to shoot drain pipe under a very wide sidewalk.

Useful for gutter overflow situations.
I have a couple of roof valley locations that sometimes overflow the gutter due to leaves or too much rain for the gutter and thus didn't make it into the drainage pipe away from building. Installing these where gutter previously entered drain pipe, cutting hole in cover grid for downspout entry appears to have resolved this problem thus far giving drainage path for gutter overflow. Needed a couple of additional 45 degree elbows to meet up with pipe connections on this product as the holes are pretty much on center. If installing a new drainage pipe this wouldn't be a problem.
