These are just what I was looking for to make wagashi. They took a while to get here from Japan, but the wait was surely worth it. Very pleased with these molds, which are beautifully detailed, and everything I wanted in a wagashi mold. Let desertcart donate to your favorite charity! Awesome! Review: Very happy with quality, especially since there were no alternatives - Lol @ the other review saying the molds were too small - this is a plastic version of traditionally wooden molds for Japanese wagashi called ohigashi/wasanbon and the size is exactly what you'd expect for that type of sweet. I love that it comes with eight seasonal designs, so that I can use the molds year-round. The molds are easy to use and make very crisp shapes. While the feel is a bit different from wood, I certainly can't complain since the price point is amazing and it's practically impossible to find wooden molds in the US.

Great tool. A little too big for uchigashi/rakugan
The hard plastic mould is great for creating dry tea sweets and doesn't need to be wet like traditional wooden moulds. The sweets come out with a tap on the table and he designs are beautiful. The moulds, however are slightly bigger than traditional rakugan and almost twice as thick. The combination makes for very large sweets. As this is one of the few rakugan moulds available in the US, it is worth having. Fresh sweets are much better than the packaged ones. Wasanbon and Kanbaiko are now available from Japan via Amazon. See my public idea list "Japanese Tea Ceremony and Wagashi Sweets" for links to them.

too small! photos not accurate
This is way way smaller than what the photos show! I am totally disgusted at the way they lied on 2 things: Size and individual molds These photos showed are way bigger than the actual mold. There are no dimensions given plus the mold is so dang shallow it will barley make a decent sized candy. The directions are all in Japanese kanji with no english. They could have done a lot better if they had been a bit more honest.. the size of these are minicule compared to normal wagashi / Rakugan molds.. Im probably going to return it

Finally available in the US
I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to finally find these molds available in the US! I have been looking for something like this for close to eight years but they are extremely difficult to get outside of Japan. This is a mold for a type of Japanese sweet called Rakugan (a pressed sweet often used for Japanese Tea Ceremony). In the pictures I have placed the mold next to some Rakugan I purchased with a quarter for size comparison. As you can see the shapes available on the mold are a little bit bigger than most of the sweets in the box, but are still a good size for this sweet. I can hardly wait to try making these for myself!

Beautiful
I haven’t tried it out yet but just live how beautiful tiny the molds are. They are different than anything I’ve seen in the market
