Awesome look and super quiet!
I have sort of an old world themed room and needed a wall clock. It was really hard to find a really good looking one for a good price though. This one fits the bill! It was a LITTLE out of my budget, but I'm glad I splurged. It looks great! I really love everything about the way it looks. It's also VERY quiet. I have to put my ear right up to it to hear it tick. I'm super sensitive to sounds like clocks ticking at night when I'm trying to sleep, so it was really important that this clock be quiet! It is, so I'm very happy with it.The only thing that I don't like is that the hands are a bit flimsy. They bend easily and you have to bend them back carefully. This was only a problem while it was sitting on my desk though before I hung it up. Obviously, I can't accidentally hit the hands while it's on the wall, so it's fine now and looks great hanging up there. I really hope it never ever falls, though. It's pretty heavy for a clock, so I'm sure some damage would be done. Be sure to secure this clock to the wall very well!

exactly what I wanted. LOVE
I love this artistic clock!it arrived in a fairly large box and I opened it, thinking it was the size of the clock, however I found another box inside. Opened that box and found the clock tightly and securely packaged. Although the discription does give demintions it did seem smaller than I had hoped. To hang it up was somewhat of a task. It is a bit heavy and you're "blindly" hanging it with your screws on the back. I just measured and marked my wall. Took a moment to do, but nothing too difficult. Your typical clock hanging perhaps. The appearance is definitely what I wanted. I love earth decor and this fit right in with the gears, the globe, and the suns. The ticking can be heard at night but nothing too distracting during normal daily noise. For under $100, this is definitely something that doesn't look cheap, it is sturdy, and it is a conversation piece. I love it.

Added my own touches to this "steampunk" inspired timepiece
I like it even more now after tinkering with it.The photo on Amazon is with full studio lighting. In normal lighting, the colors don't look as vivid. So with a few metallic Sharpies, I enhanced it. Adding gold, bronze, and silver highlights did wonders. Next, I turned over the hands so the shiny metal side would be facing outward. Doing that enhanced the contrast, making it easier to tell time from across the room--even without my glasses. When switching the hands, I noticed the center shaft moves with the seconds. Keeping with the whimsical nature of the piece, I glued a little gear to it. Now as the seconds pass, the little gear turns. To tie everything together, I also added two gears in other spots.Who knows, I may do some other tinkering later, if I feel inspired that is. Steampunk is all about creativity!Check out my photo.

If you want fashion over function...
Pros:- A great conversation piece - guests often gravitate towards it and comment on how nice it looks- Looks great - my guests say things like "antique yet modern" which is what I was going for. For me, it goes well with my décor which is mainly earthy colours (greens, reddish browns, coppery/brassy metals and pops of red).- Has a heavy sturdy feel - often things look great but feels cheap; this didn't feel cheap to me at allCons:- There are two openings at the back of the clock on which it needs to hang. This means you'll have to drill 2 screws (replete with wall anchors) into your wall at the same height (so you'll need a level) and at the appropriate distance apart (so you'll need measuring tape) in addition to just having the clock at the right spot on the wall that's aesthetically pleasing. So much to hang a clock?! Essentially, you're running the risk of hanging the clock lopsided (if you drill the 2 screws at different heights) or having to drill a couple times (thereby needing more than just the screws and wall anchors that comes in the package) if your first attempt doesn't have the 2 screws the right distance apart. Now, I'm a girl with a desk job, and I managed to pull this off with relative ease. Still, I imagine a few people out there may have some trouble.- Not the best to tell the time - counterintuitive, I know. It's mainly because of the roman numerals. The roman numerals on the left hand side (i.e. after 6) take up more space than the roman numerals on the right hand side (before 6). So whenever any of the hands are pointing on the right side of the clock, it's difficult to tell what time it is. It wasn't just me but more than one of my guests who stood in front of the clock with the bemused expression of a 5 year old learning how to tell time for the first time. Luckily, that's not what I bought it for - telling time is for my cell phone.- It's small - I knew the measurements of this clock heading into this purchase, so it didn't surprise me when I took it out of the box. Still, this clock would have made much more of a statement if it were at least 6 inches wider/longer. When by itself on a wall, it looks rather lonely. I was prepared for this and paired it with a large mirror with a bronze frame. Still, I'd have preferred just a large clock on the wall.Overall, I gave this product 4 stars because it is a beauty and I bought it far more for it's aesthetic than it's function. It lost the star for me partially because of it's size, but mostly because it would have been nice if I could have more easily told the time with it as well. The ease of installation was neither here nor there for me.

Very cute to look at
I was very happy when I first received the clock. It worked great. Now that I had to turn the time forward by one hour, the hands stopped working. I should say, the two hands are dangling at 6:30. Very sad.

Better In Person!
I'm very happy with this wall clock, from its Steampunk design, to the 3D aspects, to the weathered paint and the overall layout and appearance. It looks even better in person than on Amazon. I also think its better and more valuable looking than its purchase price. I actually think it could/should be sold around 1.5X its current price, but glad it's not! A great find to replace my broken 10-year old Steampunk clock and I like it so much more!
