The pre-programmed default settings met my needs for this application, sending 90% of the charging power to our #1 starter battery, 10% to the deep cycle battery until #1 is fully charged. Then the power is diverted to #2 until fully charged. Then there is trickle charge to both. It seems to be working as described. Two things I don't like: (1) The slotted screws that clamp the wires inserted by the installer are at the bottom of a very narrow aperture, such that I had to buy a special screwdriver with a narrow blade in order to tighten the connection. (2) The display is rudimentary. I knew this from the product description and image, and chose this product anyway to save money. I somewhat regret it because the Epever model it replaced (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BXRIRQC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) has a very informative LCD screen, and you don't need to memorize the secret code of blinking lights to tell how it is operating.
