Fits just like the OEM lid.
Works like a charm. The lids they sell at the big box stores are 5.5 inch ID and 6 inch OD. My early to mid 90s era boxes are 6 inch ID and about 6.5 inch OD. These are well made and a great replacement for he DFW plastics boxes and the lids that are no longer made by that firm.

Well-made, but didn't fit.
This cover was exactly what I was looking for to replace one that had been damaged by a lawn mower. It was well made, and looked like exactly what I wanted, but it was a half inch too large in diameter, so I returned it.

Size matters on valve cover box lids.
Well made, but I needed a lid for a 6" control box. This is listed as a 6" lid. Sounded right, looked identical to mine, same company, same type. I figured it was the right one. It isn't. What NDS and nearly every company selling this type item on Amazon fails to provide a necessary part of the description. All pipes, hoses, or anything round gives you the inner diameter and the outer diameter, or ID and OD. Apparently no one told most of these companies. No diameter on the received lids has a diameter of 6". Three ways to measure and no winners. The top is 6.5". the OD of the part that goes into the box is 6.125". The ID of the same part is 5.75". The ID of the box is 5.5. If you can fit a 6.125" hard plastic base into a 5.5" hard plastic cylinder, you're too talented for this s--t. Most other sellers saying 6" lid are referring to the widest part (6.5") of the lid. Not an Amazon item, so I'd have to pay shipping, which I've read is more than the price of the lid. I visited the manufacturer's site and left an email explaining my dilemma. I may hear from them soon. Their prices are 50% cheaper, but shipping is high. If you're buying one of these, or any other brand of the item, be extremely careful. I'd call the company before buying.

Perfect Fit
Exactly what I needed and a perfect fit. This particular size is slightly larger than the standard sizes at big box store and similar items online and previous purchases would fall through the opening. Arrived quickly, too!
