It works as advertised. Solved a problem for a device that kept needing a reboot

I was almost ready to send this product back because like others, I couldn’t connect with my cell phone to the product. Following the instructions, another gentleman posted earlier about connecting manually with the picture shown above. For me, the problem is this is 2.4 ghz product only and will not connect to 5 ghz. A lot of routers have separate signals and you can connect to either one and you need to make sure that your cellphone Wi-Fi is connected only to 2.4. ghz. when you try to connect. I have a TP – link Deco mesh system that transmits simultaneously in both and you cannot connect independently to one or the other, which was preventing me from connecting this product. The solution was to use the Deco app for my router and set up your guest network and transmit that in only 2.4 ghz. Once I did that, using the manual connection feature, it found it right away, and I had no problem connecting. You can control it through the BN – Link app and the instructions that come with it are very clear for connecting to Alexa if you want to use voice control. The app allows you to name the plug itself, and to independently name the two different outlets on the plug. I connected mine to the front yard and named it that, and named the first plug fountain, and now I can turn on my fountain with just a voice command, and I also set it on a timer. Purchased this in hopes that I could remotely control my lights using an app and at a minimum connect two exterior plugs for my Halloween/Christmas decorations. I only wish I did more research and listened to the reviews that complained about getting this product to connect to WiFi. I just assumed those users with the complaints are the same ones that do not know how to setup their own WiFi network. Unfortunately I could not be more wrong as I could not even get the device into pairing mode to connect with the app/phone. After 2-3 attempts I gave up trying to connect to the device and decided to just return this product. In addition to the connection issues, it has what I consider a major flaw. Those orange silicone seals that are provided to cover the plugs get in the way. If you take a look at the attached photo, when you plug one side in those seals dangle and block the other side, i tried to bend them 90 degrees up (towards the front) but the seals are too short and something as simple using this as an exterior dual outlet becomes a major hassle. It should not be this hard.At the end of the day I returned this product and went with another BN Link product - the BN-LINK 7 Day Outdoor Heavy Duty Digital Programmable Timer..

Works great. I control it by having Alexa turn it on or off

Used to plug in 120v under cabinet lights and be able to control & dim them. Liked the feature of being able to set the high and low output % to not have the led lights flicker and over about 90% doesn't really make them any brighter so it's nice to have custom settings. I use the smartlife app and couldn't be happier.

We bought this dimmer for our christmas tree. This allowed us to use our phones to turn the tree on and off, and dim the lights. our tree has LED lights and it worked great for them!It was very easy to include into google home, and it just worked great to help us not have to go behind the tree to turn the lights on and off.We only bought this specifically for the christmas tree lights, but I can think of other applications for this, I have small floodlight stands that have smart LED flood lights that can be controlled, but if I needed to use standard lights, this dimmer would come in handy to control them.

Easy to setup. Made the Christmas light setup so much easier.

I was skeptical about ordering this product after reading the reviews. Well, I’m glad I put that aside! After skimming over the instructions, it literally took me 5 minutes to get up and running. Sometimes it doesn’t pay to follow the naysayers!
