In Defense of Food

Best Nutritional Documentary out there.
As a primary care doc, I am recommending this movie to every single patient. If only Americans in general understood how many of our most common chronic diseases are caused directly by the good ol' Western Diet. And those that do understand still need help figuring out what food is truly healthy, and what is not. Well presented, evidence-based documentaries like this have tremendous potential to improve the health of the people who watch them, and to change the landscape of our broken medical system if enough of us get wise to the real underlying problem -- which is the "food" that is sold in our stores. That's all I have to say about that.

Awesome
Loved this. I have lost 30 lbs recently and found that I'm following most of what the video teaches. I will watch this one many times over!

Decent film
I show this film early in one of the food systems courses I teach, to introduce some of the topics and themes we will engage with over the semester. For that purpose, it is great. I think the way Michael Pollan approaches food discourse leaves much to be desired though.

A must see!
I liked all the content. Every living soul need to watch this video. I personally shared my copy to friends snd family because American are really “SICK” and we as a nation can and must do better on educating the population about the importance of healthy eating and never to over eat.

Eye-opening, clear and concise book -- changed the way I think about food!
This book, along with Pollan's book "The Omnivore's Dilemma" have informed my thinking about food and what I choose to eat. I've lost weight and my overall health has improved after reading those two books.I read this book first and consider it the most eye-opening and concise book I have ever read about food, health and nutrition. It is NOT a diet book -- It is an information book that helps you look at food in a different way!

It's a good tape, but it seems like some of the same stuff that I've heard other videos. But then I like to watch a lot

I love the work of Michael Pollan
I love the work of Michael Pollan. Every person should watch this. Several of my friends didn't want to see it because theythought it was all doom and gloom about food, but it's not, and that's what I like about this piece; it's balanced. It shows the positivesabout good food, real food. My favorite part, eat like the French...enjoy!

A MUST SEE! One of the best well rounded documentaries on food.
2 hours of Very informative material. Looking at the science of nutrition. Examining the various myths of food, a lot exploited by the food industry who only care to get your money. Eye opening as it compares the diets of North Americans with other parts of the world and the relation to diseases that plague some areas and are nearly nonexistent in others. A lot of the material is common sense that we as North Americans sadly forget because of allowing corporate North America to do our thinking with regards to food. Filled with Interviews with scientists, doctors and experts along with multiple studies and lots of research, that leaves you feeling much more aware. This is probably one of the best documentaries I've seen on the subject of food. A MUST SEE!!! I recommend watching a few times a year, depending on your situation maybe even once a month.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
