The broken coat and rough coats are not like the smooth coats I've had in the past - ...
I have two Dogs, brother and sister, but one is a rough coat, and the other broken. The broken coat and rough coats are not like the smooth coats I've had in the past - they have a lot of trouble blowing out their thick undercoat by themselves. I card them this time of year, then spend an hour each hand stripping almost every day. They HATE being stripped. The package arrived, I tore it open, and said: "ok! Who's the first victim?" - Yin is faster than her brother Yang, and she made it out the door... Yang, the broken coat, was first. I carded him for about ten minutes with the carding brush until nothing more would come up, then started in with this "deshedding tool". Now, we've tried stripping knives in the past, and the twins just will NOT tolerate them. Instantly tremendous amounts of hair started coming out, immediately clogging the tool. I cleaned it, and started in again, always following the grain of the hair. He actually laid down on my lap, closed his eyes, and was soon _snooring_! It took about fifteen minutes, but at the end, we had an eight inch ball of soft undercoat, and I've never seen him look better! I'm going to buy a second one just to have it on hand for when this one dulls!

He finally got his nails done!
My long haired Saint Bernard, Godfrey, loves to swim, walk through mud, roll on the sand and in the tall grass and I do NOT have money for a groomer. As you can see, I definitely need everything in the kit. And FINALLY after many years I brought myself to cut his nails. No issues. They were tough and I thought the clippers might break but they held up. I wish there had been a detailed instruction sheet with the tools but I'm figuring it out as I need them. The tools weren't quite as heavy duty as I hoped but they get the job done and the price was right. Less than a groomer would have charged. Avis Johnson, Provincetown, Ma. (Tip of Cape Cod)In the summer my cat likes to sleep under the shed and in the garden. She's always dusty, dirty and matted. The combs work very well....when she lets me use them on her.

Great starter kit for dog grooming.
I really like this start out kit. I'm a new student in dog grooming school, & my kits that comes with my class has not come in yet. So, this kit here on Amazon is so amazing to have on hand. I really like the slicker brush, comb, and the furminator deshedding. For a beginner this is great, I have yet to use the nail clipper & dematting tool. The furminator really gets out the dry fur stuck to the skin, I was amaze how much fur came out with each different dogs. The slicker brush help me brush out any lose hairs that were left behind. The comb is great for long hair dogs, and trimming the hair to the right length. Awesome kit, I would definitely buy this again for back up.

Everything you need
Here is a tool kit Everything you need can be found! High qualtiy blades with soft comfort grip handles making it easy to tackle even the most matted and clumped fur! We use this kit about once a week. My Husky and Golden Retriever are very playful and love to roll around in the dirt and run through the weeds in the dog park, plus they shed a lot, so needles to say their coat requires a generous amount of care nearly every day. The slicker brush is sharp, and grasps all the dead and knotted hair with ease and very little tugging on the dogs delicate skin, The rake and Claw are very high quality and built touch, either have yet to fail us when tackling our four legged friends coats. My dog grooming friend had a kit similar to this one when she first started out and recommended it to me when I was browsing the website, I absolutely love it, especially for the affordable price ( She pays almost triple the amount for her professional brushes, but she uses them on multiple dogs daily! ) I'll pass on her recommendation for the brushes, especially is , like us, you have long haired babies that play and shed a lot.

Well organized and pretty much have everything we need
This is such a handy toolbox. Well organized and pretty much have everything we need. My husband said if we can find this earlier, we don't need to buy others. Compare with the price which sold seperatly, I think it's a good investment to have it all for just $18. I have two dogs, one is golden retriver, another is long hair dashchund. Different sizes but this box suits all my needs. The slicker brush is really gentle, good for remove the loosing hair and maintain a fluffy fur. The deshedding brush can remove the loosing hair, while also remove some live hair. But it really reduces a tons of shedding. I also like the defur button. You know, with a hairy baby, it's painful to clean the brush after every comb. Choose either one just depends on your expectations.I like it very much. If really ask me to pick some cons, I wish it has a scissors in it.

Quality of this grooming set is outstanding!
This set is really well made, I suspect it will last for years to come.. The gel handles on the brushes are very comfortable in the hand. The undercoat brush really works great getting out the excess/dead undercoat fur -- and my cat loves it. I bought this set mainly for my one extremely long-haired cat, but my other cats and my big dog Petey enjoy being groomed with these items as well. Thrilled with my purchase, Customer Service is outstanding, and shipping is speedy. Can't go wrong here 😊

Excellent product (my dog and I love it) and super fast shipping!
How did I get along without this well-made set? It is just what we needed for this big dog and his super thick undercoat! I read it is not good to have (Leonberger / Aussie) undercoats cut too short. Since the Oklahoma summer heat is beginning, Max is noticeably miserable in the heat even though he is a mostly indoor dog. This grooming set addresses all areas of Max's coat very nicely and he now begs to be taken out to be brushed, lol!

Great home grooming kit
I had been using a regular comb on my dog before acquiring this kit. I like the rubbery material around the handles which aids in having a firm grip while working thru a tough fur coat. The carrying case is light and compact about 2 inches thick, great for storage. I would have liked the length of the handles to be tad longer since my hands are quite big. My thumb measures 3 inches. Overall great inexpensive kit. An immense upgrade if you are using a human comb like I had.
