Boat Cover and Boat Seat Patch Sail Repair - Tear Aid 6" x 12" Patch A

The canvas patch worked quite well once applied but was difficult to begin the separation of the patch from its backing.

Put it on my boat cover then stretched the cover back on. The patch stretched a lot more then the cover. It did not break but looks pretty ugly.

Works just as advertised. Sticky and tough and stays put in the hottest sun. The only thing to watch for is if you are going to waterproof your canvas or boat cover, waterproof first and let that dry(a day or so) then apply the patch. I used the patch first then waterproofed the canvas and the waterproofer made the glue on the patch a little gummy and a bit loose but i never had to re-patch it. The waterproofer (startbrite w/PTEF) eventually evaporated from under the patch and is as sticky as when i first applied it.

I had a 4 or so inch T shaped tear in the seat of our covered canvas porch swing. I hand sewed the rip with 15lb fishing wire and then used this patch to reinforce my sew job and to take some stress off the stitching to reduce further fraying. I placed the patch on both sides of the tear for extra support and no one can even tell because we have a cushion that goes over the canvas..So far it seems to be holding up pretty nicely I got to enjoy my porch swing all evening.Update-----This patch failed pretty quickly in a matter of weeks really, and at the worst possible time. My father who was still recovering from back surgery was sitting outside on the swing and the patch failed and he basically fell through the swing, luckily it was later into his recovery and his stitching had already healed.

I purchased this patch to repair a 10" gash in my son's Banzai sidewinder. These work great! I will be buying more patches. They hold air under pressure and hold up with wear and tear play. Fantastic patch--I highly recommend it.
