This book is a treasure. It is an in-depth commentary that is accessible to Bible students of all levels. The great joy of this commentary is that it is written from a place of great faith in, and reverence for, the word of God. I highly recommend this volume to anyone who wants to study Zechariah, or know more about the word of God in general.

Dr. Dan Woodhead has really done a great job in this commentary. One of its great strengths is that it is easy to understand. This is mainly due to the fact that with the literal approach that Dr. Woodhead takes, the text is allowed to say what it means and mean what it says. With this approach, there are no major puzzles to figure out and the commentary ends naturally, as Zechariah does, with Jesus physically ruling and reigning on Earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. What a great day that is going to be!

Some books of the bible are more difficult to understand than others (think Revelation, or Hebrews!). But the Old Testament book I've found the most mysterious is Zechariah, "Who are those people under those trees? Who's talking? And when does the conversation switch from one to another?" I'd just get lost in the order of events and struggle with the message I was supposed to be getting. But not any longer! If you read only one commentary on the book of Zechariah--this is the one.
