easy once you throw away the provided instructions
After much struggling, here's what finally worked for kitty paws:I used a cookie cutter and a full-sized rolling pin. Rolled the dough out on a clean counter top, not on tin foil. Put it on a plate, brought it to kitty, and let her stand on it with a dry paw. Water was not necessary and made it super messy and weird. Once I figured these things out, it was easy. Prior to that, it was not a good time.We made 4 smaller ornaments with one package.

Decent kit for the price. Practice helps. Tips included below.
I recently purchased this kit for my senior dog before he passed. The day he crossed over, I remembered I had the kit and went to work on it. I had to knead the material a few times after messing up. I also found the included roller nearly worthless, so I used a full-size rolling pin, which worked great. Also, wetting the paw is critical for a good print, as the material tended to stick to his footpads, then pulled away (like stepping in chewing gum) and ruined the print. Make sure the surface of the material is free of lint, creases, indentations, etc as they'll be permanent once it dries; I have a little fingernail crease I thought would settle out, but it didn't.Minus a star for the flimsy roller and instructions that could be clearer.

Takes some skill, but is forgiving of mistakes
This is not cement, this is more like foam clay or Model Magic. That being said, you can always ball up the clay and start over if you aren't happy. First one for my dog was okay, but I knew I could do better, so I did it again. The rolling pin provided is just a plastic tube, so if you have a regular rolling pin I recommend that. Make sure your hands, pet paw, and surfaces are clean then roll it out onto the tin foil, and transfer it to a book or plate. Getting your pet at rest will help this go smoother. I found water made my dog's paw stick to the clay, but not for the rat or the cat so you may have to experiment with that. This may be difficult but remember you are working with a live animal, which again is why I like that you can start over. Since this is a foam clay also, it may not "dry" out completely and may have some flexibility. If this happens to me, I'm going to put them in the sun on a mild day and see if that helps.

Helps us remember our boy - came RIGHT on time
My cat has been dealing with cancer and what we thought was swelling from radiation side effects was actually a second tumor. Basically we went from thinking we had at least 2 years with him to realizing we only had a few days. I was able to order this and it got here right on time, thank God, and it was pretty easy to capture his print and just let dry. I like the 3 ribbon options. We were able to fit both of his front paws on it because it is such a large space. Ultimately, thank you to the sellers and to Amazon for getting it to us in time before we lost our boy!Notes for people who are considering it:-Press harder than you think you will need to to get the print to show up.-It will take longer than you think to roll out the dough, flatten it, and get the print (especially if you have to redo it) so make sure to plan accordingly!-The instructions were a little unclear because there is an instruction sheet, and also instructions printed on the inner packaging, but they say different things (different time amounts for example). You may have to just use it as a foundation and then use your own judgment but it is not hard.-Also just make sure the front part (with the prints) is completely dry before you flip it over. I thought I was following the instructions but it must have still been a little wet. Fortunately I got it to unstick from the cardboard without messing up the prints but I say this because I would hate for it to get messed up for someone who can't go back and redo it.

Love this!!
I have a collection of hand/foot prints from my pets and kids over the years. Yes, this can be used for kids! Tried many types of brands. But came across this brand several years ago. It’s not messy, takes 1 min to knead the dough and just make sure to wet the hand/foot before pressing on the dough. It doesn’t dry fast so if you mess up you can re-knead it and try again! No baking! Comes out perfect!!! Included a picture of a different brand that was very messy and came out horrible! I in no way work for these people or even know them. Just a fan of collecting paw/hand and footprints of kids and pets. Have tried so many types and this is by far the best kind to get. I honestly could have created a bigger indentation of my little dogs paw, I was scared to hurt her. To smooth out any bumps or cracks you just wet the finger and with gentle circular motion rub that area. I didn’t even do that with the two small prints pictured. I could have gotten 3 small prints from just one of these. I only needed two and I had extra leftover.

Super fun and cute!
I bought three of these when they were on sale a few weeks ago! I gifted one to my neighbor and one to my mom, and kept the last one for me. The instructions are clear and the paw print kits come with everything you need to make a cute little keepsake of your furry ones. It might take more than one person to get it done if your pet is suspicious or doesn’t like getting their paws wet (instructions say to dip paw in water right before pressing into the clay). Follow the drying instructions or your paw keepsake will end up curving a bit as it’s drying. Turning it over after the first 10 hours or so is really important.

Paw impression didn’t last
I was super excited for this so we could make a cute ornament for our pup’s first Christmas but I had issues with the actual material. The air-dry clay material was very springy and easily got air bubbles in it every time we tried to roll it out and when we finally got a good paw print in a flat spot, the material was supposed to air dry for 2-3 days, but after a few hours, the paw print had filled back in a bit? So the impression didn’t last. By the time it had dried, you could barely make out the print. The cutter included was also much bigger than expected, but that could be nice if you have a big dog (if you are trying this with a cat, you’ll find it hilariously big). I loved the multiple ribbon options, and we ended up buying oven-bake clay from the craft store and remaking the ornament, but I still used the ribbon included in this kit. Would not buy this again, but I liked the idea.

Lovely memory keepsake
I used this kit for my lovely cat before he was put to sleep. It worked really well and was very easy to do, the hardest bit was to get my cat to comply as he didn’t like wet paws! It’s something I’ll treasure now he’s no longer with us.

Took a solid month to dry out fully!
Ok first, like a lot of dogs mine hates her feet being touched or messed with in any way!So this took several attempts to get a good impression. The putty stuff itself has an extremely strong chemical odour, when it does say it doesn’t smell. So if you do choose this product, wash your dog’s feet immediately after. The smell didn’t exactly help my dog feel comfortable using the product! When left to dry, it says if you follow the instructions it can take 24-48hrs and you have to flip it over so it dries out on both sides. Ours took a solid month, and that’s in a hot and dry room, we flipped it every 24hrs but it took a month to become solid. After 24-48hrs, it’s still soft and can be damaged so easily! There aren’t many products on the market that cater to making prints with your pet so choices are limited. But I’d highly recommend looking a little longer and see if there are any items with a better list of reviews!

Worth it
Bought as my 12 year old cat had cancer and we knew we had little time left with her. I also bought an inkless print kit which wasn't working so well so I purchased this in a last minute panic and managed to get some good, although not perfect, prints. The circle cut out is quite big, we got both of our Fred's front paws printed and had enough to make one additional paw print for my daughter's bedroom. One thing I will say is to make sure your pet has clean feet! It only became apparent that Fred hadn't washed hers after we'd put them in the clay so our prints have bits of soil in them which we couldn't remove! Still cute, truly a print of her little toes.

Still hasn't become solid after almost 4 weeks
Like a lot of dogs mine isn't happy to have his feet popped in a bowl, or messed with at all really, so after a few unsuccessful attempts with my lad looking like he would nip me if I tried again, I popped the pre-rolled material back in its wrapper and into my dog walking bag and went for a walk.Once he has a ball outdoors I can do most anything with him, so out came the ball and I got the impression material out and popped his [unwetted] foot onto it and gave a little press. He then helped by standing up and trying to run with it stuck on his paw!!!Even with all that the impression isn't great, and it is quite dirty, but in a weird way that is true to my boy, he's never been one for being clean and neat :-)But even after nearly 4 weeks in the conservatory which gets very sunny and hot, and being turned regularly it is still quite pliable. I expected it to set hard.So far as it goes it's a keepsake of sorts, but I wouldn't buy again.

Great for pet keepsake.
Great memory of my best friend. She was 17. Took print day before she went to sleep. Was wasy to take paw print without distressing her. Dip paw in warm water first for a clear print and no mess at all. Is very light material.
