Q: How do you get the peanuts in the wreath?

You unhook one of the sides from the top. But, by the time you walk back in your house, this feeder will be empty. The object of a bird feeder is EFFICIENT dispensing of seed to provide optimal watching opportunities. Well, this feeder fails at that. The Blue Jays quickly learn to empty this feeder in mere minutes. And, it begins to stretch out very quickly allowing the birds even easier access. You might as well just throw the peanuts in an open tray. This is just a useless feeder.

Q: Is there any way to tighten the coils if they get stretched out? The peanuts (in the shell) are falling out through the spaces.

Mine was so tight I had to try to loosen them if anything. It's pretty solid metal and very tight coiled.

Q: Can you put suet balls in the feeder ?

I use it strictly for shelled peanuts. The open is not very large and to put the peanuts in the ring I have a funnel that I cut off short in order to stuff the peanuts in. So I would think trying to get suet balls in there would be tough.

Q: I was looking for something to hold my cotton fabric scraps, will birds be able to pull scraps to make a nest with this hanger?

I wouldn't have thought to use it for scraps or material...neat idea...but I can say, I used mine to hang outside for peanuts for the squirrels, and they have no problems getting them out. I have even had a few birds successfully get a peanut out, so I think they would be able to pull out a piece of material!
