No it does not take the shine of the gems, in fact it makes them shine even more. I am on my 6th bottle.

Q: How long does it take to dry?

It doesn't take over long, depends on how much you put on. I usually leave it overnight to make sure it is properly dry. Hope this helps you.

Q: How many layers of product do I use?

I covered my picture with one coat. It did take longer to dry than I thought but the result was perfect

Q: What size painting would this cover please

My 2 paintings I used it on were 30x30cm and I also made 24 keyrings which I used it on as well . Still plenty left in bottle. Very good value for money.
