My 8-year old nephew loved it!
Several weeks ago, I gave a copy to my nephew's family for his 2 kids. The 8-year old called today to tell me how much he LOVED it! I liked it, too! A page turner.

Fast flippin' fun!
Ellie is fun, fresh, and engaging. The kind of kid any twelve year old would want for a best friend. She wears spunk with a capital S and her sidekick and brother Kip is a scream. Together they make a strong quirky and all out fun team.I LOVED the Hong Kong feel. Having never been, the author made it so accessible that I could see every avenue, each shop, and each determined step of Ellie's as she struggled to help save her father's company.I cannot wait to see where Ellie is off to next--but you better believe I will be right there next to her!

International family adventure
Ellie's family is in danger of losing their livelihood, and having to move, and she is on a self appointed secret mission to save the day. What follows in an adventure of a lifetime half way around the world. Talk about pulling in all the resources, from the mysterious Chinese Heritage teacher, to her at-first-annoying-but-later-accomplice little brother, to her mom's friend, and even the staff at the Hong Kong YMCA! It's a charming and humorous adventure, the dynamic between Ellie and her younger brother is adorable, and the descriptions of Hong Kong districts, places, and its customs is quite a cultural education. Anything else I say would be a spoiler, so I can say, if you haven't already been to Hong Kong, watch a few videos on YT to see the Peninsula, and the Inter Continental Hotels, the Star Ferry Pier, and Victoria's Peak. Great middle-grade book!

Exciting Sibling Adventure
Lee Miao’s debut middle grade novel, WEI TO GO! is both humorous and heartwarming.I loved every single layer of this story, filled with edge-of-your-seat adventure, and there are many. Ellie and Kipp are probably the best siblings I have met in recent middle grade books!Ellie is clever, witty and smart, and her brother, Kipp, is brilliant at navigating, which helps as navigation is Ellie’s weakness. Ellie and Kipp visit Hong Kong with their mother and end up on an adventure of a lifetime. There’s laugh-out-loud humor, adventure, mystery, and drama, that keeps the reader totally engrossed and guessing.Ellie’s love and loyalty are so endearing and authentic. The snippets of historical information are fascinating- and educational!I can’t wait to read the next story in the “Ellie & Co” series. For a debut author, Miao has created unforgettable characters, and a brilliant mystery/adventure. Bravo!

lots of fun
My 11 year old granddaughter and I have had wonderful fun with this book. We each have a copy and sometimes we read to each other, or read by ourselves and then over Zoom try to figure out what Ellie will do next. We're still not finished, so we don't know the ending yet, but the anticipation is there. Great fun!

Fun international adventure for middle-schoolers
Ellie Wei Pettit is a girl with spunk. She's going to save her father's business from a mysterious Asian corporation. A great read, funny, love the relationship between Ellie and her brother. A quirky family that cares so much for each other. The descriptions of Honk Kong are amazing. I felt I was there. I really enjoyed reading this book and I can't wait for the next Ellie & Co Book.
