How much does this weigh

Sorry I can’t help you with an exact weight as I have all the plug’s in situ. I can say that it was not very heavy when I first opened it and overall very compact.

Does this have bsi kite mark? if so what is it please

In a word, NO! Difficult to get plugs in and out, takes a bit of pushing and pulling! The holes for plug pins are barely wide enough and I could hear scraping plastic sound getting them in and out as if the plastic around the holes was about to break away. The item was not flat! When I laid it down on a perfectly flat surface, (our kitchen worktop), the body of the extension wobbled as if the frame was twisted. That's not all that was wobbly... The USB-C socket wobbled severely when a USB-C plug was inserted. No support for the plug at all! Ready to snap-off! Not well made which is a shame because the idea is good!

What does the black button on the side do

There are no black buttons on the side . The two on top at the cable end turn of the plugs on the corresponding sides
