Q: Would this hold an 8x8 8lb boxwood backdrop?

Definitely not. I believe that anything over 4 pounds would overwhelm this device.

Q: what size back drop is best to get ?

For the length, we only used two of the three sections. Our officiant and the two of us were easily able to stand in front of it. Our wedding party did not all fit in front of if it though - be we didn’t want them to.

Q: Can this stand hold a vynil material backdrop of 7x5 ft?

Do I need to purchase any kind of hooks to hold the back drop, It is 7.5 Ft ?
