Brightest is too bright, but the remote gives one-button access to lower settings. Then when you switch on again, it seems to remember. So in many cases it's going to be on or off and maybe between 2 power settings.I didn't like the 'modes' at all. I can't imagine ever using them for anything. They're not as good as even the cheapest Christmas decorations. Thankfully I won't ever use them. But I'd say you may be disappointed if you plan to.One thing I did notice is when I switched on they do get quite hot. Admittedly this was full brightness and I hadn't put in the remote module.
