Should be about $10 less in my opinion.
I want to point out I didnt even get what I ordered first off..I paid for the Syma X12... I recieved the Syma X12Sthere a few changes, protocol isnt the same, it doesnt have the LED on the front (just the 4 on the motors)and a few other things.First the good.1 .Stable2. bright lights.3. comes with comfortable controller and spare props.4. 20minute charges to 5minutes flight (4 minutes are good, the last minute is too underpowered for anything other then return to home)5. the controller is pretty much the same as the WiiU pro controller. The bad1. Red lights are front, not rear like every other quad ive had. it took me forever to realize this i thought it was broken!2. hardest trim ive ever set up on a quad and i still cant get it to hover properly even indoors.3. if you breathe on it, it will drift....4. the recharge port feels weak, careful with that wire.5 Not kid friendly6. Trim doesnt seem to save from one launch to the next in the same flight. and changes! i spend half of my flight timesrecalibrating and resetting.7 trim trim trim. its impossible to get it to hover i can press forward 10000 times on the trim and it still flies backwards pretty fast.if i press full forward, it moves forward, but at a slower rate then any other direction.

Love this little drone, SO fun to fly!
Wow, what a fun little drone! This is the second Syma X12 I've had, the other one had the forward facing white LED light, which I liked. I think my first X12 was a better flier, or at least it needed a lot less trim to fly well.My first Syma X12 suffered a battery failure, but that might have been my fault. I think I left the drone powered on after flight and drained the battery so flat that it wouldn't charge again. I'll be more careful with this one.The beauty of these tiny drones is that you can easily fly them indoors due to their diminutive size. Sure, you can fly them outside too, but beware of days with any wind. I find the X12, as like most of the lightweight Syma drones, is very susceptible to wind and become hard to control. Otherwise, they are a blast! I've had two Syma X12's, a Syma X1 and a Syma X5c. They have all been terrific fun to fly and very durable. The secret to not killing your drone is: AS SOON AS YOU START GETTING INTO TROUBLE, CLOSE THE THROTTLE!!!!!You can bounce these things off the ceiling, walls and furniture without hurting them if you just kill the power to the blades! Otherwise you can strip the drive gears between the motors and rotor blade drive shaft. Flipping over on the floor or bouncing over the furniture with the blades revving is a good way to beat your drone to death, so please just get used to chopping the throttle when you get disoriented. I've never had to replace a part on my Syma drones, even after dropping my X5c from over 200 feet into a corn field. I've also dropped them into pine trees and had them go down in forests with no damage. Flying outside it is easy to have your drone taken away by the wind, and it is easy to get disoriented as to which way it is flying once it is far away. This tends to end up in it getting high up and far away before you know it. (At least that's my 'modus operendi', but I'm not a great flyer!).I won't get into the technical details, but I love all of my Symas and the only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that I hate having to adjust the transmitter trim controls so much each time I fly. Someday I'll get a better transmitter that remembers the trim settings and then I'll be a really happy camper.Flying drones is fun. I've flown R/C planes and helicopters, but found they consumed too much time in building, maintenance and getting to a flying site. When you can fly in your living room or backyard you don't have to plan out your flying days on the calendar!

While it flies very nicely, it shuts of the motors and drops like a stone when it goes out of range, something i found out while flying above an (inaccessible) roof of a building. So good for the nano drone. Would probably give it 4 stars (1 star off for nonremovable battery) if it would simply keep the motors running like the X5C does, preventing me from loosing it a mere hours after getting it.Edit: just mere weeks after purchasing another one of those, its rear left motor is no longer working, rendering the toy unable to fly. Decreasing the rating to 1 star.

Battery charge is LAME!
Nice toy for my younger guys if they could actually play with it for any length of time. It is nicely painted and the remote is a great size for small hands. Easy to maneuver and control. Great idea. The reason for 2 stars is that the battery fully charges in 4-6 hours, but only lasts for about 15-20 minutes of play before they need charged again. :/ Very disappointing for everyone. If they could actually fly it for at least 30-45minutes on one battery charge I would rate it higher.
