I got these to swatch my colored pencils. I had to use the back side of the cards because front side is waxed. These would be really good for markers because of that but the front side distorted the pencil colors too much. That being said, the back side is perfect for my intended use. I take these to the store and swatch directly next to the main color as I try not to duplicate colors yet I used all kinds of colored pencils.

I was quite impressed by the quality and quantity of the flash cards for the price!I purchased these to create a swatch library for my (overly generous) color pencil collection. It appeared in the reviews as though the paper quality would be good for this, and I was not disappointed. The test card worked very well for color pencils, sharpies and fountain-pen ink, so they would be useful for a variety of applications beyond color pencil. I would definitely recommend these!12-2024 Update: I purchased a second batch of these, and the test-card paper was very different. The shade of white is noticeably whiter and brighter, and unlike the previous batch, only one side can be used for swatch testing, as the other side is coated and too slick for ink or color pencil (so if you usually use both sides, or make a mistake on one side, you’re out of luck). They’re still good cards, but I guess you take your chances with the paper every time you order, as there doesn’t seem to be any consistency to the paper in these.

I purchased these cards as a study tool for my medical terminology course. I will use them to study roots, prefixes, suffixes, abbreviations, symbols, and terminology related to the human anatomy. So, let's get into it...1) Packaging - The cards arrived in triple layer packaging, not counting the Amazon envelope. Each set of 50 cards and a ring are individually wrapped in a resealable envelope. All eight sets are then placed in a resealable envelope, and that envelope is placed in a thicker plastic wrap.2) Assembly - Unwrapping and assembling each deck was easy as the holes are perfectly aligned and the rings got through with ease. All of the rings work.3) Paper Quality & Color - The paper is not as thick as regular index cards but it's not flimsy either. The pastel colors are great for color inks and easily readable. The brown paper is thicker than the other colors and only works with black ink. It's too dark for my purposes but they will make great dividers. The white has a gloss coating not found on the other colors.4) Paper size - My hands are average size so the deck is perfect for flipping through vocabulary. I was attentive to the size before ordering so there were no surprises. These are great pocket size cards making study on the go very easy.5) Smudging - My pen of choice is the Pilot G-2 07. I tested two colors and a Stanford highlighter on the papers and noted that the white cards smudge because of the gloss coating. The others colors did not smudge.Overall, I am very happy with the purchase.
