This is one of those basic accessories that just works without any hassle. Plugged it in and everything connected immediately with no setup issues, connection drops, or weird compatibility problems. It’s great for connecting older USB-A devices to newer USB-C laptops, tablets, or phones. The overall build quality feels surprisingly solid for such an inexpensive adapter. The cable has a decent thickness to it, the connectors fit securely without feeling loose, and the short flexible design is actually nicer than rigid adapters because it puts less stress on ports. Data transfer speeds also seem fast and stable. It handled transferring files, photos, flash drives, and peripherals without issues, and devices were recognized instantly by both Mac and Windows systems. It works well for mice, keyboards, storage drives, phones, and other USB accessories. Charging performance is good too for lower-power devices. It’s convenient for connecting charging cables, flash drives, or accessories without needing to replace all your older USB-A hardware immediately. This USB port is compatible with my Apple computer. It allows me to keep the same external hard drive and headphones that I was using on my old PC. The port fits perfectly into the Apple Computer. It does not get hot. It is lightweight and easy to use. The cable quality is perfect. 🤩

Using a Windows machine at my department. I store backups of a small DB on a thumb drive, and then then also on my personal MAC from some redundancy. So Win to USB-A thumb, and then USB-A thumb to MAC USB-C via this cable. Same in reverse. Moved much larger DB to 128GB via this cable to USB-A thumb and back to Windows. Did a very large ZIP on the USB drive via this cable. Charged a brick battery USB-A charge cable from USB-C wall wart via this cable. Same using the MAC in the place of the wall wart. All of the above worked fine and while I did not time anything it seems to be plenty fast data transfer as well as charge times. Very happy so far for 8 bucks.

Regrettably, laptops no longer have built in CD/DVD decks. I use this nifty little device to connect an external CD/DVD deck (with a female USB-A connecter) to a spare female USB-C port on the laptop. The connection is much more reliable than what I got with integrated adapter with no cable.

I used this to attach a KVM switch to my Onyx e-reader. I have been using it at work to do some writing when it's slow at work. It works great.

Using a voltmeter, nothing concerning happened. Voltage and amps remained at safe levels when using a standard 5V 2.4A charger. Testing it on a flash drive, it transfers data at 3.1 speeds. It was able to support 180 MB/s read and 90MB/s write speed, well above what usb 2.0 is capable of. That being said, without using the connector the flash drive hit 187MB/s read and 90 MB/s write speeds, so a very small amount of performance was lost by using this cable. Works exactly as advertised, and has very good build quality.

Cannot say anything bad about them
