A Baker’s New Best Friend
I recently got the 5 Quart Bowl-lift Plastic Flex Edge Beater for my KitchenAid, and honestly, it’s like I’ve hired an extra hand in the kitchen! The silicone edge is a genius touch; it scrapes the bowl as it mixes, meaning I can say goodbye to the endless stop-start routine of scraping down the bowl. Whether I’m making a velvety cake batter or tackling a stubborn cookie dough, this little gem keeps everything smoothly blended with minimal effort on my part. I was impressed with its sturdy yet lightweight design right out of the box. It fits into my mixer like a dream and works like a charm, making my mixing tasks noticeably quicker and much more efficient. The beater handles everything I throw at it, ensuring even the most stubborn ingredients are well mixed, without any strain on my mixer. It’s so satisfying to see everything combined perfectly with hardly any residue left on the sides of the bowl! And the cleanup? A total breeze! Just pop it in the dishwasher and voilà – it’s ready for the next baking adventure. It’s held up brilliantly over multiple uses and washes, still looking as good as new. This flex edge beater has become an indispensable part of my baking routine, almost like a trusty sidekick in my culinary escapades. For anyone with a KitchenAid and a love for baking, this attachment is a must-have – it’s a small addition that makes a huge difference!

Great paddle, no need to dirty a rubber spatula when mixing
I wish I had bought this years ago! I got one of these for Christmas years ago, bit it wasn't made for the model of mixer I have, so I gave it away and put this on the list of kitchen things to purchase eventually. I finally took the plunge and ordered this, and really wish I had done so sooner. I love this beater attachment, I used this to make mashed potatoes, and cookies so far. Both times I was so happy I didn't have to stop the mixer and scrape the sides every so often. It's easy to clean, and the material it's made out of appears to be non-stick so it's easier to clean than the traditional paddle attachment that came with my mixer. It's as easy to install on the mixer as the traditional paddle, and if I didn't know better I would think it came with the mixer. I wish it did, I would have saved so much time scraping the bowl down. Buy one of these and save yourself the time and effort of scraping the bowl. Highly recommend and friends have all purchased one for theirs. Don’t hesitate it’s so worth it.

Beater Review
It broke after 3 uses. The plastic is no match for the all metal mixer.

Seem to be very sturdy
Replaced several dual blades beater that had failed rubber blades and this single blade model is much heavier and seems to do the job of mixing just as well. I like the way it performs so far, and I think it will last much longer than the lighter ones. It is much better than the factory unit that has no rubber blades and while not perfect, it does clean the sides of the bowl pretty well and mixes the heaviest of batters with no problem.

Does the Job!
When I initially put the beater into the bowl and turned on the motor it clanked against the little bump in the bottom of the bowl. I realized I didn’t lock the back of the bowl into the pin on the vertical post behind the bowl. So, I thought the item didn’t work in my mixer bowl. Once I realized I needed to lock the back of the bowl into the pin the beater didn’t hit the bump in the bottom of the bowl. I just made Molly Katzen’s, Ukrainian poppyseed cake, from the Moosewood cook. The beater did the job perfectly. It scrapped batter from the sides and bottom of the bowl. All ingredients got mixed in. I didn’t need to use a spatula to scrap down the sides while mixing the batter. Excellent. Btw: The cake turned out delicious. Sorry, we’re eating all of it. If you show up to get a piece it’ll be gone :) Ed

I think I need to order the brand name for my mixer. I think the generic brand is the problem.
I purchased this but it didn't fit right in my mixer. It was the right one for my machine but it was scraping the bottom of the bowl causing a loud scraping noise.

Not good for dough
I used it 4 times and it broke at the neck, where it is attached to the mixer. Made it louder too. Wasn’t a snug fit.

Excellent for making cheesecake batter
This fit my old Kitchen Aid stand mixer perfectly and the silicone edge acts like a squeegee to incorporate all your ingredients without having to use a rubber spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl. It is top rack dishwasher safe, so cleaning is a breeze. It does put a little more strain on the motor because of the scraping action against the bowl, but it is not excessive. Your mixer works harder kneading dough, and we bought our Kitchen Aid mixers because they were heavy duty anyway, right? I'm glad I found this attachment, and so will you.

Avoid. Was not even using it on a dense batter, just the friction of the flex edge was too much for the plastic to withstand.
