Q: Does the top of the desk attach to the shelf side with a specific groove or just rest on top of it?

The top of the desk rests on the shelving unit with some rubber feet that keep it from slipping.

Q: When folded in l form how long is the drawer top part? i am wanting to put a cricut printer there and i want to make sure it’ll fit

The inside dimensions of the drawer are 13 x 12.5 inches.

Q: How long when not in L shape? I see 55 for the desk part alone, but the bookcase extends beyond that so looking for full length. Thanks!

I have mine at 90 inches total. I could add another 3-4 inches if needed. The drawer/selves piece is a little over 41 inches in length. Hope this helps 👍
