Hilti 2063000 Combihammer TE 70-AVR 120V

I'm using my new Hilti TE 70-AVR, corded hammer/drill to quickly drill 16-20" long holes into hard rock at an open pit mine. The combihammer is very efficient and drill bits last a long time. The typical drill bit diameters run from 1/2" through 1-1/2". I had been using a different brand because it offered variable speed hammer-drilling that the Hilti, and my other demolition Hiltis' lacked. However, because of this Hilti's slower hammer-drilling speed and superior hammering impact force, hammer-drilling is faster and the bits last far longer. It's relatively quiet, too, plus with Hilti, you get a great warranty and their tools last for years without requiring maintenance. I own many other Hiltis' and all have endured over 3-years of regular usage without a single instance of mechanical failure. I prefer corded tools like this one as I can dispense with heavy batteries and chargers. Their corded tools are generally costlier versus the corded versions, but when you add in 4-6 batteries, plus 3-4 chargers, the costs are similar or less, and the corded tools deliver more power. I highly recommend this Hilti tool and Amazon beat Hilti's price by a substantial margin, which is not always the case.

Considering that Hilti now wants to charge $1,100.00 PLUS tax and shipping to repair my old TE 70; it was a no-brainer to buy a new one.
