Great all round guide to chess improvement
Currently teaching chess to my 11 year old stepson and this book is already proving invaluable. Not sure it would help a good player much but for beginners and moderate players like me it’s invaluable.

I've given it a good chance, but give up. I bought the English language version of this book. It book reads like it was written in a foreign language and put through a poor translation software. Either that or it was written by a non-native English speaker. It is not user friendly. If there were one positive, it is the notation for several famous chess games, which are interesting to play out on a chess board. Having said that, they are also available online with full analysis. Disappointed!

Explanation for Aliens
Most of this book explains chess on a level for someone who has never seen a chess set before. It tells you what a knight, pawn is and explains the various terms. If you've decided to buy a book to get better at chess you'll probably know this stuff but it may be useful if you're stuck somewhere with a chess set and don't know how it works. For me there was no usable info on techniques to improve, reasons to choose one opening over another or any opening further than two moves deep. I did not find the book usable at all. Also some of the explanations didn't make sense ('Here the king is in check mate' - But he isn't)

The perfect chess book
The perfect chess book If you are an absolute beginner or you have already learned the basics and want to improve, this book is for you. It covers a wide age range and the language is clear and concise. The book is divided into several parts and each deals with the main topics of the game (opening, middlegame, endgame, tactics, strategy, etc.), concluding with many useful insights. The contents are supported by many diagrams to help the reader visualise the concepts explained. In addition, there is also a glossary and ten useful score sheets. I highly recommend it.

In my opinion, a book suitable for beginners who want to have always at hand a clear and complete manual. There is a lot of information that allows you to compete effectively from the start. Interesting operational suggestions.

Learn how to play chess
Chess isn't a game that I learned how to play growing up as none of the adults knew how to play. I have always wanted to learn how to play and this book has been a great help. You will learn about the pieces and how they can move plus various strategies. I have been trying what I have learned by playing against computers online.

Excellent read. It begins with a complete overview of the game and progressively goes into detail about the most complex aspects, concluding with a series of useful insights. Appreciable both the glossary and the score sheets.
