Laurence King Advanced Creative Draping

I have purchased the draping book by her and it is great. But I wanted to learn more about creative draping and this book was recommended to me. I didn't hesitate to order it and I am glad I did.

I'm really conflicted about this book. There are a few tidbits of great information, but why is there an entire section devoted to surface treatments/design in a book about draping? Maybe that's what makes it "creative"? A large chunk of the first chapter just tells you to notice and experiment with how the fabric hangs (on the straight, on the bias, on the cross) really elementary stuff. Overall, this is sadly not what I was looking for. This might be more useful to a fashion designer rather than a theatre professional.On the pro side, it is beautifully photographed, and there is lots of inspiring imagery. It's a beautiful book to look at.
