I bought one too, its a scam, it is merely a laser pointer, and yes you have to keep the button pushed down for it to stay on!

Q: how am i suppose to use this?

I was robbed for $200+ of my money trying to order this pen and a few other items on Amazon. I ordered this diamond testing pen, a microscope with an LCD screen, a Gemoro gold tester, a headlamp with a UV light, two jewellery loops and a few other things over a month ago adding up to well over $500+ and only received two items and Amazon is refusing to help. That's how I use that stupid pen.
