How long is the hanging rack? What is the length of the longest utensil? How do they do on non scratch pots/pans/griddles etc.?

The hanger is 17.5 inches and the longest utensil is 13.5 inches. I only use cast iron, so I don't have the issue with scratches. One reason I went to cast iron.

How does the rack attach?

You will need to screw it into the wall or anchor it in the wall if no stud.

Do the handles get hot when cooking?

it doesn't, unless you rest your utensil on on pan for a long time, as expected.
