THESE ARE THE OLD OLD NAVY FLIP FLOPS
Ok, this is for anyone who remembers the durable, rubbery Old Navy flip flops that were only sold for a few years, maybe 2007-2009 or something. I have never gotten over them, I fell in love and have been wearing the same pair since they were discontinued. They looked good for maybe 6 years and still in 2017 had no wear except for the paint is slowly rubbing off. THESE ARE THEM. Except not, these are from Ipanema brand from Brazil. I never thought I'd pay $20 for a pair of flip flops, but that was the best $20 I've ever spent. Durable, flexible, comfortable, classy... 100 stars. I'm so grateful to this company for creating these shoes, and I'm unreasonably happy to finally have my favorite flip flops again.

Very comfortable
I love these - I can't really figure out why they feel so comfortable, but they do. The material is comfortable, the bit of molding under the foot near the toes is comfortable. There is a small amount of arch support which is more than you usually find in a flip flop, and feels comfortable as well. The only issue is that they are a bit narrow, which I like but won't work for everyone.Update: one flip flop is ripping just a month into wearing them. Very disappointed as I really like these.Update: I contacted Ipanema and they went out of their way to replace the flip flops even after the return date was passed. Great customer service.

Good basic sandal
In my search for good quality rubber flip-flops (I hate calling them thongs), I read all the reviews and decided to give these a try. A solid 3 stars (would have given them 3.5), and only less than 4-5 stars because of a few minor flaws that aren't deal breakers.First, they are the nice heavier rubber that is hard to find in casual flip-flops. Most, even though they say they are quality rubber, they really are the light foam types that compress after a season of wearing them (I hate to think of all the money I wasted on Reefs and Tevas only to have them disintegrate after one season). After Old Navy discontinued my beloved hard rubber flop, I keep trying, and keep failing, to find replacements. These come closer than any I have ever found. Although the rubber is dense, it is still on the light side so I am concerned that these will compress as well. But otherwise, they feel sturdy. I will update with my findings in the future.Second: I can't properly describe the fit as they want me to report because they are both too small and too large. I will report too small since not everyone will experience my problem with a narrow foot. First, they run somewhat small. I wear a perfect 7.5 and typically order a straight 7 when the half sizes are not available. But after reading some reviews, I took a gamble and ordered the 8 and I am glad I did. I am sure my heel would be hanging over the back if I had gotten a 7. Then the shoe is also very loose on my foot. The straps are too long, and since I have narrow feet, the sandals are not snug and I am afraid of them falling off. But as long as I don't plan to walk for very long or very far, or run, I think they will be fine. I will just have to choose a different shoe when I go shopping or site-seeing.Third observation: they have a nice contouring that you won't get in flimsy foam flops. Becuase they are molded rubber, they designed an attempt at an arch support and grooves for the bridge under your toes. It's a nice feature that adds a little style to the shoe rather than the generic flat bottom. So, in all, it was a good purchase only losing two stars because of the weird fit (actually 1.5 stars because 3.5 stars is not an option). Simple yet perfect goes-with-everything sandals that I will most likely wear every day that I can. I might even buy different colors. The seller was quick to ship and delivery was uneventful.

It's official I'm in love
Wow these are great! I've owned junky flip flops and a couple of nice ones (Sanuk, Havianna) but now the 4 Ipanema flops I own are my fav. I have problem feet from previous injuries and surgeries with hardware so I'm a baby about comfort. I'm also beat up physically from a car accident, chemo, and other injuries so falling for me is a constant fear. I feel safe in these because the traction is SUPERB I even use them in the shower and when it rains because they get better traction than my sneakers (traction with the ground and between the shoe and my foot). I slip one of these on first thing when I wake up and they're in for the entire day - even while moving it's been my go to. Nice cushion and they feet my moderately wide feet with comfort. I will note that I have 3 colors of the Ana Tan and they're consistent but my special minty print version with the gold logo is cut narrower and slightly harder so I don't quite love them as much - see photo.

Great Sandals!
I have 6 pairs of Havaianas, and decided to give this a try...I've only had these sandals for a few hours, but they're amazing! They fit relatively well, despite my wide feet. The contours really hold your feet in place. It feels like it was made for me. The subtle pattern on the soles feels very nice, similar to the rice pattern on Havaianas, but not as intense. The sandal isn't as soft as I would like it to be, but it is very flexible. The straps are not restrictive, and move very easily. I think it may feel a bit loose on individuals with narrower feet, but I may be wrong.Going on to the fit: I have wide feet, and there is a considerable amount of spillover on the sides, but my feet don't touch the pavement. But this spillover does look a bit unsightly - at least to me, but jeans cover that up. The length fits me perfectly, with the length of the size 10 being about 27cm, and my feet being about 26.5cm.I contemplated this order for quite some time; it helped me very much contacting the manufacturer. Their associates provided me with very detailed information about the sizing, going so far as to measuring sandals to tell me what size would fit the length of my feet and making eerily accurate recommendations on sandals that I was already considering .I’ll be wearing these daily, and I’ll update this review in the days ahead if anything changes. But if you’re in doubt, give the manufacturer a call. They’re awesome!

Loved my FIRST pair that I bought in England ( My puppy chewed one last month so I needed to find them again ). Was thrilled that good Ole Amazon had the EXACT same ones . They are worth the extra money as they are definitely NOT just the average Flip Flop that break after one summer. They are solidly made and designed to be comfortable ! MADE IN BRAZIL too..Thus the Name

Ipanema es garantía
Un poco caro para ser simples calzado flip-flop pero definitivamente la marca cuida la calidad, y ahí es donde a mi me interesa, obtener un producto de buena calidad.

The best quality flip flops you can find!
These are the 2nd pair of Ipanema flip flops I have purchased and the last ones I had for 4 years! The only reason I had to buy a new pair was because the tide came up and took one out to sea! They are really great quality and very stylish too. Highly recommended!

Flip flops which last forever
I love this brand and especially this style. I bought a pair 5 years ago and they travel with me for every vacation, still in a good shape. Just wanted to get new colors. The material is very durable but they are comfy to wear. I am size 6 but these flip flops I order in size 5. Size 6 was too loose.
