Good quality and easy to use. You need to practice a couple of times the suction function so you don't overdue it. I am very pleased because food last much longer in the fridge.

Great product, especially in these times of rising food prices. I bought this because I was tired of throwing out food that had spoiled or was past it’s expiration date.Simple and easy to use. I recommend buying the additional bags, especially the zip lock type that the attachment can be used to remove the air.With today’s large bulk items readily available, this product is saving me money on food that would have been wasted. Examples are bread … I can get extra months on bread by placing half or quarter loaves in a bag and sealing.For those of you whom utilize freezer options, this product too is ideal. An example is cheese. Buy bulk, separate it into a few smaller portions, remove air and seal, then toss in the freezer! No more running out of something you want to add to a meal, and nit having it.Regardless of the hardness of the food or the liquidity of it, this handles it with ease. Lasagna leftovers a month later? Take it out of the freezer, thaw, heat and enjoy! Leftover bacon for a BLT months later or just to add to a meal? Same thing.Very happy with it thus far. Overall, worth every penny.

My machine gets used a lot and has held up to the task

We used to double wrap our frozen foods in plastic wrap, but after throwing out food due to freezer burn, etc., we purchased the FoodSaver V4840. It removes nearly 100% of the extra air from the food saver bags we fit for our serving sizes. We also purchased the small and large vacuum containers for dry goods that can be stored in the pantry. I love the fact that we haven't thrown out anything since ditching the plastic wrap and freezer bags for this better solution. We've already saved nearly $85.00 - in the 8 months since we purchased the unit and vacuum bags. Sure, it's not cheap, but far cheaper than the food you'll throw away, plus all the plastic wrap and freezer bags you won't have to purchase as well.
