My assumption is that the 78 inches advertised includes the stakes. Hope this helps! **Q: Does it come with stakes?** A: I don't remember if it had stakes. I just stuck it in the ground. It's been in the same place for the last year. **Q: Does the height measurement of 78 inches include the 11-inch stakes? Or is the height still 78 after placing the stakes in the ground?** A: It has been years, since I bought this, and no longer have access to it, but I would bet money that 78 inches includes the stakes. One point. It is NOT made of cast iron, so it is fairly flexible.
