Fit older 'classic' Herman Miller Aeron
I bought a used Herman Miller 'size B' Aeron a year ago that was in good condition but also 25 years old. After a year of use, the plastic spacer in the base of the piston cracked apart which made the chair wobbly and unusable. This piston was a one-for-one replacement for the pin style cylinder. Holds like a champ Side note: Make sure to save the black trim/cover ring (where the base meets the cylinder) from your original chair as this does not include that piece. Easy enough replacement. Fits like its supposed to.

Not compatible with my Herman Miller Aeron Chair
The description says the cylinder is compatible with a Herman Miller Aeron Chair. It is not. The end of the cylinder they sent is tapered, whereas the end of OEM part is not. Don't buy this is you have a Herman Miller Aeron Chair because it won't fit the base properly (it will fall through and drag on the ground).

Better than original
The original cylinder bottom came close to the floor. This one leaves plenty of clearance.

Good match, inch shorter, allen bolt needed to be adjusted
Only replacement I found for an older Aeron that has the pin at the top. Looked like an exact match, but is about an inch shorter than original cylinder. Inserts straight in, not sure what's going on with other review requesting directions, but I did have to back out / loosen the allen bolt that controls the lever mechanism to raise/lower chair, as the original setting would collapse the cylinder when sitting.

No directions
This is the correct cylinder for my chair but I’ve been unable to get the pin inserted correctly like the old one was. Need instructions for how to line up.

Works
Have an older aeron and this one works. Had to line up the screw and the tension but back to working like new.
