Rowling's beloved series, making the magical world even more enchanting. Illustrated by Jim Kay, each book is filled with stunning, full-color artwork that vividly brings characters, creatures, and settings to life. The illustrations complement the text beautifully, offering fresh visual interpretations of iconic moments and making the series accessible and exciting for younger readers and collectors alike. The attention to detail in Kay's artwork is extraordinary, with each page feeling like a work of art. These editions are not only a joy to read but also to explore visually, as the illustrations capture the whimsy, darkness, and wonder of Rowling's world. The books are well-bound and printed on high-quality paper, making them durable and luxurious additions to any bookshelf. Overall, the Harry Potter Illustrated Editions are a must-have for fans, offering a delightful new way to experience the magic. Review: Beautiful - I remember queueing outside Waterstones to buy the original Harry Potter books in Hardback on day of release many moons ago. I hated the films. Still do in fact, but the books are superb. These illustrated versions are quite special. The pages are thick and glossy, very high quality, and each page is not only colourful but the illustrations are spectacular. I have all the illustrated versions thus far, and despite being in my 50's now i thoroughly enjoyed re-reading these books, there is magic about the storys and luckily the illustrations dont resemble the movie cast. Reading the stpry again was a magical journey i engaged on for a few days. The book is quite heavy so i couldnt read it for long as it was hurting my hands. However reading a few chapters at a time gave me something to look forward to and despite getting this in perfect condition on day of release it took me a month to read it all the way through. Truly beautiful edition that i am glad i have in my collection. I will enjoy them well into my old age.

Best one yet.
It's almost as if Jim Kay as eventually sat down and read the books and/or watched the movies. Because at last the illustrations look like what the books and movies desribe. At last he's realised the books are not just for the nursery. That Harry Potter fans range from four to ninetyfour and are not stuck at infants school. Maybe it's the influence of Neil Parker. Rumour as it Jim Kay was finding it all a strain and had to take a sabbatical and Neil Parker was brought in to help him out. Whatever the reason it helped bring the level of the illustrations up to more in line with the average reading age of the books and the mentality of the stories. The illustrations, with a few minor exceptions, actually look like the images we got from reading the books and watching the movies. His illustration of Harry actually look something like a recognizable Harry Potter as apposed to all his inconsistent attempts he did in the previous books where no two versions of Harry looked like eachother and were only distinguishable as Harry by the lightning bolt scar and the glasses. I only disliked two of his characters, in this book, Snape he illustrated too ugly. Snape is dark, brooding and menacing but not ugly. The other is Dolores Umbridge; who he as depicted as a fat mad eye gorgon of a woman, but we know her best as smart over polite portly lady with a welcoming but malicious smile that belies the evil scheming ambitious politician within. Some people have critized this volume because most of the fully page illustrations are at the beginning with a few towards the end with only a few margine doodles and decorations in the middle chapters. I understand what they mean and it as been suggested that is the result of his sabbatical and that he just ran out of time. Personally I don't mind that too much and find those small ornamentations more effective, somewhat more subtle and classy, than some of the more garish full page pictures. But no what ever the reason for the improvements, long may it continue, and I hope for even more mature illustration in 'The Half Blood Prince' and by degrees we should get something special for the 'Deathly Hallows' but don't hold your breath.

Beautifully illustrated majestic looking book
The book is hardback and very thick ,the illustrations are done beautifully and.totally captured the energy and likeness of the characters and scenes! Definitely a book to keep and pass down through family to family it seems very sturdy so I imagine it would stand the test of quite some time , I would be pleased if my daughter received a few of these for Christmas ,as would she so yep worth every penny! Specially for HP fans x

Not enough illustrations
Illustrating the longest book in the Harry Potter series was always going to be a mammoth task, and it could not have had the same frequency of illustrations as the earlier books without being too large to comfortably handle. But even with that in mind I was disappointed by how sparse the illustrations are. This book was three years in the making, with a second illustrator brought in to help finish it, and there are still some chapters with no large illustrations at all. The illustrations that are there are excellent, as in all the other books.

I'm not going to review the story, as I hope everyone has already read it or is at least familiar with it from the films. I will say that Order of the Phoenix is my favourite book in the series. I would also hope that you've already got the first 4 illustrated books before you buy this one. Like the preceding 4, this book is amazing. Lovingly illustrated by Jim Kay, it gives a little more insight into what's going on. Also, the book arrived on time and in excellent condition.
