Every Single Cat Loves It
The media could not be loaded. I have eight cats, and every single one of them is obsessed with this toy. That includes our old man cat who usually couldn’t care less about toys. The Petlinks Mystery Motion has somehow won him over, and now he joins the younger ones for playtime, which is wild to see.The random movement under the fabric drives them crazy in the best way. They take turns pouncing, circling, and trying to “catch” it. I like that it has multiple speed settings so I can adjust it depending on how active they are. It keeps them entertained for a solid stretch of time, which is hard to find with most toys. It’s held up surprisingly well too. With eight cats taking swipes at it daily, I expected it to fall apart fast, but it’s still going strong. We’ve already bought a backup just in case. If you’ve got bored indoor cats or need something to engage a range of energy levels, this one’s a winner.

My cat learned how to operate it
My two cats seem to really enjoy this toy. I'd even say it's my more playful cat's favorite toy. She likes it so much that she figure out how to turn it on herself—just stamp down on the button in the middle. Since it has an auto shutoff I don't have to worry about turning it off to preserve battery.I've purchased this twice. The first one I got lasted a year or two—and I think the breaking of the first one was my bad since I was the last one that touched it. I was just sliding back a few feet...maybe it WAS with my foot. So maybe not the most durable thing in the world but it seemed to good enough for my cats. It's relatively quiet—especially if you don't attach toy with a bell to it. And that's coming from someone who likes things really quiet. It's usually the first word I type in any Amazon search. This is especially good seeing as my cat can turn it on herself whenever she wants. The feather parts get ravaged pretty quickly, but the stringy parts stay pretty much intact. It has pretty good battery in that it takes a really long time before it'll actually give up and not turn on. But as the batteries drain it becomes extremely feeble, moving extremely slowly...which I imagine is less fun for the felines. The only thing I don't really like about it is that you need a screwdriver to replace the batteries...which is probably some sort of safety precaution, but I don't really see cats eating three AA batteries or anything. I now just leave the batter door off and things have been fine.I guess it's also a bit pricey at $35—I think $20 to $25 would be fairer...but I'd say the first one I had earned 7 or 8 cents a day of value....aaaand my cat just turned it on again. There you have it.

Overpriced waste of money - another piece of junk Made in China
This was a waste of money - another piece of junk Made in China. After about 9 months, the toy just died.We have a very lazy cat that won't play by herself. Even though this was expensive for what it is, I bought it anyway, hoping it might interest our cat. Because the toy got mostly good reviews, I ignored the bad reviews stating poor quality, hoping I wasn't one of the "lucky" ones to get a dud. No such luck.As far as the toy design - our cat was interested in it at first but then wouldn't play with it unless we played along with her. (And, yes, we do play with her constantly, but it gets tiring having to perform for her while she sits and just watches. We were hoping this would give us a little break). For other cats this may be a good toy if you are willing to risk getting a dud - the concept is good but the quality is terrible.

My cats absolutely love this toy!
I've repurchased this item multiple times as the motor isn't very good quality and doesn't last. But I keep buying it because my cats love it and play with it every day. I highly recommend using rechargeable batteries for this toy, as you'll be frustrated at how quickly it goes through batteries. For some reason, I've found that the version with the gray base and green skirt tends to be much better quality than the one with the cream base and lighter colored skirt. They should be identical other than the color, but they're not. I've had to return the cream version twice as it didn't work properly even brand new.
