Interesting collection of readers' travel tales; proceeds go to a good cause.
A collection of travel stories from readers of the original "Tales of a Female Nomad," together with recipes gathered en route. Some stories are funny, others sad but the best, in my opinion, are those by Rita Golden Gelman herself, whose subtle self-deprecating humor had me in stitches. The recipies are tried and tested, whereas the stories are largely unedited, making for a broad smorgasbord of voices and styles - worth a read and contributing to a good cause.

Delicious read
I have devoured this book...in more ways than one. I was lost in its pages and transported from my reading nook to far-off countries with exotic sounding names. These are tales of connecting with different cultures all over the world. I laughed and cried, but mostly felt like we are all connected, no matter where we are from or where we travel to.I was moved directly from reading to cooking the recipes linked to each story. They are as delicious as the words each woman wrote. This is a must read book!Victoria Allmanauthor of: SEAsoned: A Chef's Journey with Her Captain

Another place to read Victoria Allman's wonderful writing!
Excellent book! My wanderlust re-kicked in! I was pleased to see that not all the authors were "young" women. I think Rita "and Friends" are doing a wonderful thing by helping those young people in New Delhi. Buy this book and you'll get a good read and a good feeling!

Lots and laughs AND inspiration!
Love this book! Most of the stories are funny, some are touching, a few are heartbreaking, and all of them are inspiring. Even if your dream isn't adventure travel, it will motivate you to pursue whatever your dream may be. Be open...take a chance...that's the message here. Such a fun read, one I'll pass on to friends.

Short stories and recipes
Being a true fan of the Female Nomad book (I think her original traveling book), I kind of bought this on a whim. I'm sure it's good, especially if you're a foodie, but so far I haven't really gotten into it. I haven't read the whole thing yet, but it's been slow starting for me.

Other people, other cultures
I enjoy reading about other people--especially women--who have been able to visit, or even settle into, other places & cultures. The recipes are a bonus. I enjoyed reading them regardless of whether I ever get around to trying them or not!

if u like food from across the globe
check it out. the auther lost her way or just wrote to write, however i do not like food that much so my view could come from that. i dont like what i read. sorry. it was labors for me to read. in her book female nomad this book seem to be taken from her last chapter where she had lost her enthusiam maybe due to her not seeing what someone who is reading her book would. and this book came from there. although years had past in between the two.. its not what i expected. or would i have purchased it.
