SO DISAPPOINTED & ANGRY!!
So upset and disappointed with these lamps you will never know. I brought this to replace one that I had from a few years back the EXACT SAME LAMP & CAME FROM THE SAME PLACE “TOUCH OF CLASS” Catalog. Fell getting out of bed, Lamp shattered. No money to replace. Finally did but this time through Amazon (1st time direct from catalog) This box with two lamps weighed less than my one box with one lamp the 1st time. Cancer treatment intervened and I could not put the lamps up until today so they sat in the box. This lamp is so cheaply made and inferior quality compared to my original that it is embarrassing. The base of this lamp is half the weight and not the heavy metal the original was it took me two hands to lift that other lamp I can lift this with one above my head. The shade is supposed to be REVERSE PAINTED BY HAND & is NOT (see second picture notice that the color underneath that shade is uniformly white when you turn that shade over you should see the hand painting underneath and you don’t) Plus the original shade was clear and the glass was bubbly like had little tiny bubbles in it. The original shade was the same shape all the way down this is done and then flares out. The original shade was heavy, thick Glass and was grooved all the way down from the top to the bottom. The glass on the shade is almost paper thin. & Because of the “new“ shape it puts out significantly less light as now only the top domed part lights up as you can see in the picture. I would return these but it is too late and I cannot but I will be calling touch of class directly & they will hear it from me. Now begins the relentless search to find lamps made like the original ones. Before this I had an expensive lamps from Walmart That were better quality and better made than these!
