Solid, sharp, nice item
cuts lots more than paper, no comparison to those cheesy 3pack throwaways.

Powerful Heavy-Duty Scissors for Any Task
These scissors are true beasts! Their large size and sturdy build make them perfect for tackling any cutting job with ease. The ergonomically contoured handles offer exceptional comfort and deliver impressive, pain-free cutting power to the blades. Despite being a bit heavy, their long blades effortlessly slice through various materials, including thick saddle leather, leaving smooth, precise curved cuts. We were so impressed with their performance and great value that we also purchased the smaller version for more delicate cutting tasks. No disappointments here – highly recommend these top-notch scissors for all your cutting needs!

Good quality, performs well
I've always used just regular house scissors in my toolbox and so far they've just been acceptable. When I found these I bought them thinking they would be better than what I had and they are very nice set of scissors. They cut well. They're very sharp and a great value for the cost. I bought another pair because I was so pleased with the performance of the first pair.

Durable, comfortable to use, easy to clean.
These scissors are great, they are very durable. We primarily use the scissors for kitchen tasks, such as cutting through meat, plastic, cardboard, etc… They are easy to clean and the handle is comfortable to use. I don’t anticipate needing to buy a new pair anytime soon but would suggest them to anyone looking for quality scissors.

Must have for DYI
Fiskars Pro PowerArc Shop Shears are often marketed as the "final boss" of household scissors. Designed for demanding tasks that would dull the blades of standard kitchen shears, these are built for raw power. After putting them through their paces, it’s clear they offer some mechanical advantages, though they aren't without a significant ergonomic flaw. 1. Unmatched Cutting Power The standout feature is the PowerArc technology. The curved blades are engineered to alter the angle of the cut as you go, giving you more leverage at the tip where scissors are usually weakest. In a standard household setting, these shears are virtually unstoppable. They glide through: Heavy-duty cardboard and thick plastic "clamshell" packaging. Leather, burlap, and heavy canvas. Light-gauge metals and thick rubber hoses. If you’re tired of "chewing" through materials with cheap scissors, the stainless steel blades on the PowerArc will feel like a revelation. 2. Large, Accessible Handles Fiskars designed these with oversized loops to accommodate big hands or heavy work gloves. This is a huge plus for DIY projects where you might be wearing protection; you don't have to fumble to get your fingers into the grips. The build quality feels solid, and the extended tang ensures that the force you apply to the handles transfers directly to the blades without the tool flexing. 3. The Ergonomic "Hot Spot" However, there is a literal "rub" to this design. Despite the soft-grip touches, the internal geometry of the handle creates a notable hot spot near the back of the thumb. During repetitive use, the hard plastic edge of the handle tends to grind against the thumb joint. While it feels fine for a single quick snip, it becomes increasingly uncomfortable and irritating after just a few minutes of continuous work. If you have sensitive hands or are planning a project with hundreds of cuts, you may find yourself reaching for a glove to mitigate the friction. The Verdict: These are elite-tier shears for raw cutting power, but they sacrifice long-term comfort for that strength. They are perfect for the "one-off" tough job, but less ideal for all-day crafting.

Model with open-top handle is AMAZING!
The particular Fiskars model shears with the open-top-handle is really GREAT! I compared it against one of Fiskars' other models (selling out of the same Amazon listing) with fully closed loops for both the top and bottom of the handle, and this one is quite superior, providing more leverage while cutting, therefore it's easier on your hand and muscles, AND more effective at cutting. Plus, the blades are SHARP, and strong. The other Fiskars model wasn't bad at all, it was quite good, it's just that this one is significantly better; and its greater ease of cutting is quite noticeable and comes in handy when cutting cardboard boxes, as I do (from Amazon deliveries!). This design with the open top handle and the wide-loop bottom handle (the latter allows more fingers to hold it) not only provides more cutting leverage, but allows you to get whatever material you're cutting out of your way as you cut further and further into it. I also compared this item with yet another set of shears, that one purchased at Home Depot (made by Wiss), but it was definitely a nice set of shears that did a good job. It's just that this Fiskars model clearly does a better job-- it cuts better, cuts thicker materials, and is much easier to cut with, with more leverage, therefore easier on your hand. I don't know how long these Fiskars will last, what with the open, uncovered spring that I wonder if it might become detached, but I bought three of these-- two more after being so pleased with the first one-- and they all three work equally great. By the way, there is a little plastic piece at the bottom of the handle that locks the two-piece handle together so that the blades stay together when stored. (I can see where that lock could easily become undone, however, but so far, that hasn't happened to me.) This is really a phenomenal product, and I can not only cut through thick cardboard boxes with it (I much prefer using this to a box cutter), I can also cut through double-thickness of those boxes when necessary; though there is a bit more difficulty then. I highly recommend this product for its intended uses. And don't let the unusual look of the handle scare you away-- it's actually one of the great features on this set of shears. (By the way, I was drawn to look at Fiskars shears in the first place by reading some other reviewer's recommendation for them!!-- although, of all places, it was in an Amazon review of a set of screwdrivers, where the reviewer was commenting how difficult it was to open that package of screwdrivers with all of the clear plastic glued to cardboard, but that these Fiskars shears made it a lot easier! Reading that screwdriver set review resulted in my buying three pairs of these Fiskars shears!)
