Worth the price, but needs tweeking
Just made a 1200 mile trip with the rooftop carrier. It held up well, but the Velcro strips that attach the top to the bottom over the zippers are terrible. Attached by three drops of a poor adhesive, two became loose and flew away. Others detached when opening the flap at the end of the trip. The hold down straps are difficult to get tight. As a precaution, I used two ratchet straps and was glad I did. Did go through a heavy rain, and the contents remained dry.

Sturdy Worth it Buy It Don't blink or think about it
Let's start with dislikes NONEI had to crawl on the roof that's on me: the mat provides and provided no shifting at all on my 1200 mile journey. None. No shifting at all. Your given 4 thingy straps they are all you need for the size of this product.Let's get to the bag partMy son set it up quickly.Mat Bag StrapsVery easy to Install( I put a large suitcase 2 tote bags 4 or 5 vacuum seal bags)I would say Roomy, very durable thick materialThe zippers are magnificentNo issues they are covered with a lined liner Velcro on top of themDurability I drove through 5 states up and down. Still looks brand new.Roomy, what noise level there was none. No noise no shifting. All the expensive ones out thereI seen the reviews. I decided to purchase this one. I'm very glad I did and I get to use it again because it's brand new, intact, not a thing wrong with it, except for my short people problems trying to teach the top of the vehicle.

Not waterproof and the velcro tabs would not stay on...
While the material is durable and the tie downs secure (the bag never moved), the exposure to the heat on a long road trip did "unglue" every velcro tab which was meant to secure the zipper cover flap. This undoubtedly also caused the bag to leak during wet weather. We only had clothes, in separate bag on the roof, so popping them in the dryer when we arrived, while inconvenient, was not a deal breaker. Since the bag was relatively inexpensive, I view this as more of a single use solution, rather than something i would use consistently.

Perfect for 670 mile trip
I recently ordered this for a trip from NYC to New Hampshire. Each way about 335 miles, for a total round-trip of 670 miles. We used this on our minivan which has both roof rails and cross bars (fixed). We installed following the instructions with the logo in the front (no zipper on the front section... if you look at the pics in the reviews here, you will see so many don't install this correctly, which likely accounts for a good few of the poor reviews), with the mat on bottom. The back of the bag sat on top of one of the cross bars (instructions say to do this if applicable. Seems odd, but this worked fine for us). We used both the short and long straps. In addition after reading numerous reviews on these type of roof top bags, I bought some ratchet straps (500 lbs capacity) and used two of them going diagonal over the bag from each side (i.e. they created a 'X'). I drove at about 70 mph for much of the trip. Maybe at some points went above, but generally tried to keep at or under 70 mph, per the instructions for the bag. The bag held up perfectly, with no tearing or leaking (we drove through some decent rain, but nothing too bad) so giving it 5 stars as it did what it promised.I don't know if the ratchet straps made a difference, but I suspect they helped keep the bag taut and pressed against the car, which probably reduced the risk of the bag tearing and ensured the protective mat did not fly out. Definitely the bag seemed much more secure with ratchet straps than the provided straps, and I would probably be more comfortable relying solely on ratchet straps than the straps the bag comes with. As I used both on this trip, I can't know for sure how it would have worked with only one of the straps. The main annoyance I had with this bag, and this is probably due to using it with a minivan, is that it is a pain to close, open, or run the straps. I had one of my kids climb on the roof of the minivan to do that as doing it from the side was really too hard for me. If you have a lower car, I imagine this would not be much of an issue. The ratchet straps (bought separately) were much easier for me to get in-place and I would seriously consider just using those and skipping their straps. If using their straps the ends of them should be tied/twisted to prevent it from flapping around and making noise. Not necessary function-wise, but necessary sanity-wise.In sum, I would recommend this bag for anyone looking for this type of thing.

Not watertight
it's supposed to be waterproof put it in the back of my pickup. Underneath a slide, cover opens it up one month later.Mold mildew condensation throughout the whole bag, all zippers were closed tightly. All flaps, we're velcro, meets velcro, still water got in

Looked great
Unfortunately some employees that work for the city I live in stole this & I'm in the moment suing them. I'm going to say I'm liked this product but I never got to see it. Not this companies fault.
