USB audio device that speaks bluetooth for you
This is exactly what I was looking for. I wish it was cheaper, but this seems to be the only device of this kind on the market. They're very, very difficult to search for. This is a USB audio adapter. It shows up on your computer as an audio device, like a USB sound card. The trick is that the device itself pairs with bluetooth headsets and translates USB audio in/out to bluetooth, including Hands Free Profile (HFP) 1.6 with wideband audio (high-quality mic audio), as found on newer bluetooth headsets.I'm pairing with a Plantronics Voyager 5200 in Linux. This is great, because the Linux bluetooth stack doesn't support HFP 1.6 for high-quality mic audio, so this device bridges the gap. The PC doesn't even know the adapter speaks bluetooth. This would also be useful for Windows 7 or 8, or very old versions of macOS, none of which support high-quality bluetooth mic audio. If your headset doesn't support HFP 1.6, you'll get the same bad telephone-quality mic audio that you get by pairing the headset directly to your PC via bluetooth. If you're using Windows 10 or the last several versions of macOS and your PC supports bluetooth, you're probably better off pairing with that.As for the operation of the device, it's pretty simple. Plug it in, hold the button to enter pairing mode, and put your headset in pairing mode. The adapter will automatically claim it and connect it. Then make sure the adapter is set as your default audio device in your OS, or select it manually inside Skype or Hangouts or Slack or Discord or whatever software you want to use it with. The only trouble I've had is that it sometimes doesn't work if I leave the adapter in and turn the headset off, then turn it on again later or after the (Linux) PC's gone into sleep mode. The headset may connect, but audio doesn't work. I have to unplug the adapter and plug it in again, sometimes going through re-pairing with the headset. Luckily that process is really quick and easy.

Works Perfectly
This is a review for the BTD 800 USB ML. The ML model is certified to work with Skype.I work from home office and have meetings 5 to 6 hours every day. I use Skype for Business on Windows 10 for my calls. I wanted an alternative to regular Headsets and got a Bose Soundwear which sits on your shoulders. I realized that Skype, native Bluetooth on Windows 10 and Bose is not a good combination. Skype would hang and I would have to reboot my computer. So, I started looking for a Bluetooth USB dongle. First I tried the Insignia Brand from local BestBuy. My PC would issues with device driver and could not recognize it. I returned it. Next I tried Jabra 370 link USB dongle. Bose Soundwear and Jabra 370 could never pair together. Surprisingly my Bose Soundsport was able to pair with it. So, I guess it was a Bose issue, but since I had to use Soundwear, I had to return the Jabra 370 Next I bought Plantronics Bluetooth USB Adapter (BT300-MOC). Bose Soundwear was able to pair with it. However, the integration with Skype was very flaky. The Audio portion worked but the Mic portion never worked. After few days of unsuccessful attempts, I had to return the Plantronics adapter. Finally I bought the Sennheiser BTD 800 USB ML. Pairing with Bose Spoundwear was effortless. Integration with Skype was flawless. Currently I am using this combination and I am very happy. The Range I get with Bose Soundwear is only 30 feet.

Awesome!!
I have a Sennheiser Presence and wanted to use the Presence wtih SKYPE & TEAMS over my laptop. This USB dongle works perfect!! I tested it with some folks on the other line and they said they could hear me as clear as a landline. It also connects to BOTH the USB laptop dongle and my cell phone, so I can make and receive either SKYPE/TEAMS calls over laptop or cell phone calls. It's really awesome!

Quick and easy setup, compatible with B&W PX
plug&play on my windows 7 x64 no drivers or anything was required. Connected within seconds with my Bowers & Wilkins PX headset and Skype for Business recognized it immediately. Sound is excellent. Good buy!Just for comparison sake, I already owned Plantronics BT600 which apparently is not working with non-Plantronics devices so if you are choosing between these two, go with Sennheiser

Broke just after 30 day warranty
I purchased this most expensive dongle thinking it would be durable and reliable. I was wrong. It fell apart just after the 30 day warranty expired. For awhile I could piece it back together and make it work, but it finally just came to pieces and smaller pieces were lost. I would definitely try something else. If you buy a cheap one and it falls apart, you will be out a lot less money.

Excellent. Using on Macbook Pro with Sennheiser BT headphones ...
Excellent. Using on Macbook Pro with Sennheiser BT headphones Momentum M2 for Skype Business and the quality is perfect. Without this BT USB stick the hadphones were unusable, the quality of built-in BT communication (protocol used for calls) is poor.

only lasts about 6 weeks
Using the Sennheiser BTD 800 with Plantronics to make a land line bluetooth with hearing aids. Works great for about six weeks then the BTD 800 fails.

Good!
No drivers to install and works well with the Sennheiser HD1 In-Ear Wireless Headphones. Just plug it in, look for it in the control panel in the computer, and pair with the headphones.
