When you need to cover distance
Just tried this out with a cheap 100watt per channel (50 watts at 8 ohms I believe) mini amp in an open air space. I used a Harrison Labs 100Hz high pass filter to roll off the bottom, and the music did not distort at full blast. I turned it on, walked in front of it 10 steps (20 feet) and turned my head and quickly had to turn away because it was still painfully loud. I walked a total of 100 feet and turned around and it was just about comfortably loud. I had to run back to turn it off so the neighbors don't call the cops. I need to be able to cover the depth of a football field and I think two of these will absolutely do it. Regarding the sound quality, it's not pleasant. They run at 500Hz to 5KHz. Sound quality is not what these horns are for. Don't buy them thinking you're going to enjoy listening to music on them. They're for covering large areas with sirens or addressing the public in a big open space. They're meant to be mounted 20 feet up and cranked up really loud. UPDATE: These horns worked on the event I mentioned. 7 loud speakers and a pair of these plus cheap tweeters on two 200 watt amps crossed over with a digital mixer and dynamics compressor on each driver did the trick. No distortion, and delivered intelligible speech to an area two football fields in square footage. I actually used them a second time this past Saturday in a field roughly a football field and a half and they worked well there too, along with two 15" loud speakers. One negative thing I could say is that one of them came with the polarity backwards. Not sure how they screw something like that up and I didn't notice it until I tested an amp and hooked two of them in parallel. I wouldn't take a star off for that, it's not exactly a deal breaker, but you can't expect the quality control to be 100% I guess. I suggest you test for polarity if you're buying two or more of these and make sure they match so you don't get blind spots.

Great value! This PA speaker is powerful.
I mounted mine under the hood of my truck and connected it to my CB radio and use it to announce to other drivers that their vehicle has a problem like no tail lights! I get a "thumbs up" response and a smile from other drivers when they hear me! Sometimes when a dog is in traffic and might get run over I will yell at it to "Go Home!" Works every time!

Excellent replacement
It is a great replacement for the old horn on our ice cream van. I would recommend the use of this product.

Blew it in the first day.
Use a eak amp and you'll be fine, 100 watts and don't blast the gain. Used a low budget 600 watt amp (which I'm sure the RMS is lower) & blew the horn in a few minutes. The sound quality though is amazing, loud, really loud. Worth the money but use an amp of 100 watts or less, otherwise you'd destroy the horn.

Pyle 2x 8 inch pa speakers
Very loud! Work great and easy to install. Worth every penny. Fit pretty good and but only installed today so can’t say anything about durability just yet. Put them on a Pyle 200w amp and they are screaming!

Very pleased. Performed better than expected.
First, let me say that I have had some issues with other Pyle products but these speakers are good. Bought four of these for our small town 6 man football press box. We were attempting to use concert speakers but the other side of the field could not hear the announcer, especially on windy days. Now, everyone can hear. A couple of things to consider, these are 8 ohm speakers. In order to maximize the output of your amplifier without damaging it, your resistance (ohms) has to match the per channel resistance recommended for your amp. I have these hooked up so that the resistance at the amp is 3.7 ohms. The suggested resistance for the amp is 4 ohms but can go as low as 2 ohms. Getting the resistance correct at your amplifier is very important in order to protect your amp and maximize output. These speakers emphasize the mid and upper range of frequencies. They produce very little bass. If you want good fidelity, you will need to combine them with another speaker to provide bass. The sound goes out in a conical field expanding as you get farther away from the speaker. (think shotgun vs hand grenade if you understand ordinance) If your audience does not rest within the cone, they will not be able to hear the sound very well.

It is Pyle Brand and the manufacturing Quality and materials is exceptional !!
Seller knew it was "in pieces" with a poor attempt to assemble it, and it was assembled totally incorrectly. That said and excusing an obvious attempt to just get rid of it ... I did buy it used and re-engineering it to work was so basically simple. Pyle is good quality and Im glad I got it. :). Paid too much considering the poor attempt to assemble. Seller should have just unassembled it and sold it that way or lower his price. IMHO. 2 stars off for that.
