Decades ago I was exposed to the Herpes simplex virus and have had flare up several times a year generally related to increased stress.I used to take the capsules but a pharmaceutical rep introduced me to the ointment. A SMALL amount on a Q-tip that is then applied to the area several times a day and its gone in 2-3 days. Unfortunately there's no way to get rid of the virus once you have it but this helps with the eruption. It came on Sunday, just what I wanted!

This stuff provided relief and appeared to help somewhat, but I tended to use it in the evening before bed rather than during waking hours. I will say that it left me wanting something more moisturizing in the morning, but that may be atypical. Kind of curious that it has...emu fat, I believe it is, as an ingredient? When you receive the container you'll be very surprised at just how small it is, but don't sweat it--you only need a dab, and it lasts a long time.

Works quickly, soothing!

I always keep one of these on hand. It does soothe any type of grumpy irritated skin but it's magic properties are in dealing with cold sores. As soon as I feel a tingly spot I rub in a little bit and usually the cold sore doesn't even appear. On the few times it does, I keep using this through the day and it never turns into a monster - just a small thing that fades within a day or two. I used to make up all kinds of crazy concoctions to deal with cold sores but life is very simple now - just this little pot of ointment.
