My godson loved it

Arrived on time and in great shape. Grand daughter loved it and was very proud to show me how it turned out after she had grown the crystals and put it together. She liked it so much, we got her a second one this year. She did need help from her dad in getting it set up. Highly recommend having adult supervision as chemicals are involved.

My daughter had fun making this kit. She needed help with the crystals as it requires boiling water. She had fun watching the crystals grow and arranging her sand. We grew crystals from a different type of kit and used them in the final set up because they were less messy, fit in the bowl better, and were more uniform than the ones we grew that came with this kit. The color on the crystals from either were not vibrant or uniform. The ones pictured in individual cups came with this kit. The ones on the sand did not. Daughter is happy and had fun that's all that matters.

I did this with my daughter. It was super fun to watch her run to the window every morning to see how big they had gotten. The only words of wisdom I have for this is be sure it is not too close to whatever is beside it. I had it on the window seal and it grew and attached to the window frame. It took a good 10 mins to get the color scrubbed off of the frame. Other than that it was pretty cool!

The whole rest of the kit is super cute, but the crystals was REALLY disappointing. And obviously thats the point of the whole kit. We decided to follow the directions and go all out, letting the crystals grow for 10 days max. BIG mistake, but also apparently didnt matter." The solution was supposed to be completely untouched with good natural lighting, and we gave it that. But by day 2 the liquid seemed to evaporate a great deal. Day 10 I removed the solution and was left with a disk (size of the growing container) of extremely delicate crystals. To get everything to fit, I had to break off the crystals that grew away from the "rock" they were supposed tp grow on, before putting them into the terrium. It was just like trying to break off a millimeter layer of ice, super easy and brittle. We lost a LOT of crystals that way. In the end, all of the grow rocks were completely visible due to poor growth even after the longest allotted time. The crystals are VERY thin, ice density. I was very hopeful but I wouldnt buy again for the crystals.

My niece said this was a really fun gift. Her mom wasn't exactly thanking me for some of the mess, but the end result was very cute!

I got this for my friend's daughter (she's 6) because it looked educational and interactive and requires them to MAKE their crystals while still appealing to little girls in almost every way! It has; - unicorns! Little girls LOVE unicorns - feminine, pastel colors (pink, lavender, etc) - crystals! little girls LOVE crystals But the best part is that it makes science fun, and I'm hoping that things like this will nudge her towards an interest in science, which is desperately in need of more female participants.

Meiner Tochter (8) hat das Set sehr gefallen. Das Ergebnis spricht für sich. Allerdings würde ich empfehlen beim herausnehmen der Kristalle Handschuhe zu verwenden, da diese doch sehr ab färben.

One seed crystal was missing. I would not bother but my daughter was quite upset.
