Solid product with excellent options/see edit
It oscillates! It comes with a great remote with a timer. While one may think the 3-4 foot high unit is a bit low, remember heat rises and there is some adjust ability. There is a low and high setting with a incremental thermostat. It works far better then I anticipated. Cathedral 3 story ceiling in the living room and draped glass on the entire gable end. 30'x17' floor space. two of these will keep the room comfortable if run at medium high 24-7. Vermont winter. I expect about 200.00 in electricity cost a month to run them. 1/3 the cost of oil or propane to achieve the same warmth. Will update if they hold up at the end of this winter. Very happy right now. ***See comment for addendum after winter ended.******EDIT FOR IMPORTANCE; The end of last winter BOTH of these caught fire in the back module area. They didn't burn, but did enough to full the house with acrid smoke and blacken the back of the white case substantially. They were both starting to shut off frequently. My suggestion is if you have one and it starts to shut off, it's an indicator that the overload cutoff switch is trying to tell you something. Which is that it's lived it's short life span.

Buy this heater!
Excellent heater. It comes with a small remote control that fits in the palm of my hand, that matches the control panel on the device. The top row has a button to turn the temperature down and another to turn it up which goes up to 98 degrees. The middle button is the timer that goes up to 8 hours and then back down to zero. It's better to have the machine shut off automatically than have one that overheats folks! This will also save you money on your electric bill! The adjustable swivel feature lets you point it to your preferences manually up or down. The bottom row is for the oscillator, useful it you're sharing a room with someone. It does make a little noise most noticeable if everything is real quiet. When it's not oscillating the room is perfectly quiet! The right bottom row button turns the heater on and off and gives you the option for low or high heat. When I've had to carry it up a flight of stairs, I did not find it particularly heavy but I do like to leave it in one spot because it's not feather light either. This heater, resembling a little robot, is a joy to have around! It survived many months of continuous use this very cold winter and has been a life saver.

Good personal heater, but surprisingly loud
I've had this heater for a couple months now. I originally purchased it to use in a smaller room, both to heat the room and provide warmth while I worked at my desk.A quick reminder about heaters: All 800 or 1200 watt heaters produce exactly the same amount of heat (this is how thermodynamics works...). However, radiant dish heaters such as this one have the advantage of focusing the IR heat into a wide "beam", so it's more efficient when pointed in your direction as you'll feel warmer without heating the entire room. That discussion aside, here's how this unit breaks down.Pros:+ Digital thermostat that accurately keeps the room at the set temperature+ 2 heat modes (800/1200W) to choose from+ Remote control that can turn the unit on/off and set/adjust everything+ Digital shutoff timer+ Once warmed up, the heater is silent when remaining on (but see Cons below...)+ Totally silent and smooth oscillation+ Automatic safety shutoff if tipped overCons:- The heating elements are quite noisy when they turn on, as they creak and squeal when they expand as they warm up- The heating elements glow bright orange, and the light is reflected in the shiny metal reflector directly to you- Blue backlight of the screen is very bright in a dark room- Makes a loud beep every time a button is pressed on the unit or remote that can't be silenced- Height of the unit (fully extended) is still quite short, significantly lower than a normal pedestal fan- The top (and front) of the unit get extremely hot to the touch after a short period of operation- Overall design is pretty ugly, with lots of white plasticOverall, the digital tech is the best part of this unit -- a real thermostat that can be set to 72 degrees is much better than the finicky analog knobs. This heater would work best in a workspace or similar environment, providing direct heat to one person. The moderate levels of noise and light output make it too distracting for a bedroom, and possibly even for a den/TV room. And you can get a less expensive (and smaller/better looking!) heater that is more suited to heating up a living room.I would not recommend this product for anything more than about $60. There are too many other good space heater options that will do the trick, and the flaws of this product make it difficult to recommend in spite of the features.

Happy with the Optimus Dish
Really happy with my new dish heater. Silent when running, except in the beginning when I started using it, I heard some subtle clicking noises, but now they seem to be gone.It has the thermostat and the timer, so it is smart. Will auto stop heating when the temperature reach at certain point, but will turn off when the timer is gone. This feature is good if you want to go to sleep without any worries. The remote is awesome too so I can control it from my bed easily in the morning before I get up from the bed.My room is not very big but it is heated really good. The only con, is that it doesn't holds the heat for very long, so in case your room gets colder quickly, this product needs to run more often, which will consume more energy.

Garbage
I ordered this in 2019 for my cabin. Used it one season and it keeps shutting off! Not impressed as I spent a lot of money!
