Disney Manga: Beauty and the Beast - Belle's Tale

Was having trouble finding this book near me and decided to order it on amazon. It arrived on time and in good condition as described. Gave it to my friend for her birthday and she loved it!

The artwork for the characters and the background was very well done for the style. Making Belle look like Emma was going to be hard as they have a very different take on what a female looks like in Manga form. That kinda threw me off a little bit. Even Lumiere was a bit different looking. Not as flourished and formal as the movie. Still, this story was very well done, and gave you a little more insight into Belle's mind. A good read overall.

My daughter wanted this book, so we ordered it along with the Beasts Tale manga. She didn't know what a manga book was, but was pleased with the book once she received it. She has read it several times already.

First off I have to say I was so excited for this (I loved the book, cartoon, new movie and I love reading manga!), but I'm sad to say that I had to return them with a heavy heart. My first issue was with the art itself, most of it was very well done - my issue was with Belle. In the original cartoon and then with Emma playing her she was always so feminine and magical and in the drawings I found her very bulky I guess and almost frumpy in a way. Its hard to keep going when you aren't fond of the way that a main character is drawn. My other issue was the dialogue, and this could be just my expectations were too high - I'll leave that up to you if you get these. A lot of the speech bubbles only had one or two words in them so not a lot going on per page. I also thought the internal dialogue was a bit cheesy.With all that said I'd say if you love the books and love Manga its worth a shot to get these and see for yourself, good luck!

I read this before the Beast's Tale. This is very much like the latest movie but it was truly cute and had good art.

This followed the same storyline as the live action movie did, whic is not necessary a complaint but if you prefer the Disney classic over the live action movie maybe this is not for you. I’m a little bit disappointed because I was under the impression that this will be a little behind the scenes in Bell’s life but this is just the live action movie in manga format there’s nothing new to it, the only reason I give it 4 is because I love the beauty and the beast story and I’m a big fan of the live action movie as well but this one read more like a 3 stars.

This is a beautiful adaptation of the live action film and counterpart to the Beast's tale, with lots of emotion and depth out into the main characters thoughts.

Bought both parts One and two for my wife who is obsessed with Beauty and the Beast.She loved them both, the art work is superb and the Manga offers some extra insight into the characters.Highly recommend for fans young and old.

If you love Beauty and the Beast, you HAVE to have this manga series!!The artistry is just incredible, and even though you know how the story goes, you still find yourself smiling as it unfolds.Just remember, it is manga, so if you're not used to reading from the back page to the front, it'll take a couple of pages to get used to the layout. Otherwise, enjoy!!
